Site-wide individual and group berating policy
LoveShack guidelines of discussion proscribe that all members are to be civil and respectful in their discussion of topics on our forum and, due to member requests, we've examined this guideline in more detail and also the language reminder the owner has provided us with:
Language & decency: Use language that not only reflects proper terminology, but that is in no way vulgar, profane, obscene, pornographic, demeaning, or pejorative to the subject being described or those contributing to the discussion
So far, we've been making announcements of this policy on a thread by thread basis and moderating members in those threads; now the policy is published and applies site-wide.
Hence, words and phrases which moderation deems to be bashing/berating (the latter being the official term moving forward) language of individuals and groups, whether that be LoveShack members or similar in the larger world, shall be prohibited and subject to sanction based on our language guidelines.
The most common bashing/berating language occurs when bashing/berating:
Also, LoveShack.org is a site to discuss interpersonal relationships, so threads about such policies or words or phrases will be removed and their authors subject to sanction. For those members who wish clarifications or to read the moderation-led discussion on this policy, please see the discussion thread in Questions and Comments linked below:
Discussion: Site-wide individual and group berating policy
The goal is to provide a forum which is friendly to all visitors who wish to discuss their interpersonal relationships in a civil and collaborative manner.
This policy is effective immediately as of 10am EDT 9/4/2015 and we'll handle threads posted prior on a case by case basis. If in doubt, even if a post you're responding to has suspected non-conforming language, don't respond with similar language simply because it's there. Report it to moderation and respond in a conforming manner.
Thanks for reading!
