lol, it's for bettering the gene pool mostly I would say. I personally don't want my kids to end up short like myself which they most probably will if I have kids with a short man. I'm not very sexually attracted to short men in general either. But then again, if he is great with a great body, I might look passed his height.

 

Oh and a lot of tall guys LOVE short women. I've had guys 6'7" or so saying they only date women under 5'4"!

For me it's like the income thing. Prefer all you want. But to require a man be pushing 6 feet when you (hypothetical you) are 5'6 max? That's ridiculous.

 

IMO it unnecessary limits ones options. I guess those people are okay with that, or at least will pretend to be.

 

I just can't imagine turning a great guy down because he is 5'8 instead of 5'11 (assuming I'm 5'8 or under), much like I can't see turning a great guy down because he is a teacher making 45k instead of a lawyer making the blessed 120k.

I have never preferred taller men. I have had a crush on Al Pacino for the longest, 5'5 and Katt Williams, the black comedian guy, somewhere 5'4-5'6. A guy I liked in college had to be 5'5-5'6. I am 5'2 so I'm not really picky in heights.

just something that has begun to anger me. i'm 5'8, so not terribly short, but short(er). most of my girlfriends have usually been between 5'2 and 5'5, no taller than that. maybe it's an insecurity thing, most likely in fact, but i don't like girls that are close to my height (heels would put them taller). so basically i'm already picking from say half of the girls (5'5 and under). then i see so many of these shorter girls, on dating sites, say they need a tall man.

 

like who the hell are you? lol that's my initial reaction, most likely irrational (i guess we can all demand certain qualities and shouldn't be judged for them). but i just find it a little ridiculous, that these short girls refuse to date shorter guys. it's a bit lame.

I can say that after having dated many woman through online sites, the number one request from woman is height. the others are sensitive, caring, and a sense of humor. the list goes on but those are the things I paid attention they really want. infact I do statistics here and there to check this. as well I did a statstic for 2 weeks writing down the ladies zodiac signs of every profile I clicked on and it was unanimous. the 3 fire and 3 air signs clearly dominated. they were the most who were single with no children.

 

but definitely height is without a doubt the most requested. and since I live in a country with shorter than average male height, Im in big demand.

 

I take their height into consideration when choosing them because I have to add high heels into that as well. And I dont like super tall woman. im 6'2" and for me the cutoff is 5'6". I want to feel like im holding her, not the other way around.

 

And yes, woman tell me all the time they feel secure in arms..even woman who told me they never fell asleep while being held in bed, and it happens all the time.

right now, this post is about height. there are many other things that woman want but this post is about height.

 

we live in a very superficial world where size matters to woman, and looks very much matter, and height matters, but you need a good personality as well. but you can compensate (most of the time) with money. money wont buy me though.

Lets not pretend size advantages dont exist. Usually a taller person is heavier, hence they have the advantage in a fight if skills are equal.

 

If skills arent equal than the smaller person stands a better chance at being the victor.

On the whole, I do think that men are much more forgiving of women's physical "shortcomings" than women are of mens. I do think men are much less picky in the looks arena than the average woman.

 

The height thing is clearly a touchy subject. I am 5'8 and have dated exactly my height (many times). Not a problem. I have been taller than MOST of my BFs when I wear heels. The "he must be taller than me when I'm in my heels" thing kills me. As does a 5'4 woman who requires a guy to be 5'11 or whatever. I guess I like a guy to be at least my height but that's all.

 

I wonder if the women with the super specific height requirements (must be 5 in taller than me!!!) are the same ones with the 120k salary requirements, lol.

 

 

I think everyone deserves to limit their potentials in as strict a fashion as they see fit, but I just don't understand why a girl HAS to look shorter in heels.. The taller you are as a female, wouldn't it be more exponentially difficult it'll be to find someone who fits that requirement as well as most of your other personal requirements.. ?

 

Is it really more masculine to be a 5'3 female with a 4" platform strapped to your feet than a guy who's 5'6 barefoot? It's like a little kid standing on a chair.. Am I suddenly supposed to somehow feel physically intimidated?

 

Hell, If I wore 4 inch heels, I'd be well over 6 feet as well. Doesn't mean I'd consider myself to be taller than what my body actually is.. Anyone can look super tall with the right lifts, tons of celebrities both male and female abuse that sort of **** because some of them look taller than they really are due to being skinny or having long limbs.

I'm tall and yes it helps a lot. Thing is even being tall you can suck with women and life. But like I said it helps.

 

Thing is being short physicaly doesn't make you a short person. You can be a big guy and have presence and charisma and only be 5'2 or what ever.

 

In fact I have a friend who is a 5'2 normal dude nothing special about him other then his personalty and how much fun he is. Which makes him better then some 6'2 doctor what ever guy. Seriously he does great with women.

 

Since I'm tall people are usualy shorter then me. That means when me and my friends are at a bar or what ever just having fun it certainly has happened where a 5'7 friend of mine or whatever did a better job of attracting the girl we were both going for.

 

So yes being tall is a great advantage to getting women, but no being short isn't some death sentance and you complaining about being short is more detrimental then anything a woman can do to you.

 

Women also deal with a lot of crap. Everything from the way we are harder on heavier women to the way we are harder on age to how much more vulnerable they are I mean we generaly don't get raped on dates... you get the point. Lets stop these gender wars.

 

I realize this thread will for ever pop up. But lets all end this one. Cmon short guys, you're only as short as you put in your profile... also stay away from online dating where you can show your pressence is more then tall enough for the women. In the end there will be a girl for you. Its the law of attraction, you must attract or be a lone.
