blind_otter Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I just read the last part of this thread. The funny thing about porn...I used to love it...all kinds. In the last, say, 2 years or so though my opinion has changed. Porn seems really empty and unfulfilling...sometimes it's just plain gross to me. I don't know what flipped the switch for me, but now I'm completely against it.

I don't know what flipped the switch for me, but now I'm completely against it. I find it gross too. And it is empty and unfullfilling. It becomes a nasty habit, and at the end of the night people are still sleeping alone, and don't understand why it leaves them so hollow. I say the real deal or no deal at all:)

Lyssa Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 An identical twin?? Otherwise it just wouldn't be fair... for her I mean. It wouldn't be fair for her? How about me? Ah, Lyssa, someone has a crush;) You are very pretty though Lyssa, so, you know, I get dibs! It takes one to notice one! Dibs on Lyssa guys, that's what that means, so everyone back off! Dibs? Is that a new term of something I don't know of?!

I used to watch porn once in 3 months or so - in the beginning I wanted to know what was the big deal about porn - well, it did nothing for me! What turns me on is movies with a bit of sexual scenes in it... you know the one with a bit of teasing.... sigh...

What turns me on is movies with a bit of sexual scenes in it... you know the one with a bit of teasing.... sigh... Unfortunately, that is how it starts for most people and slowly and insidiously takes over their lives as an addiction. The media portrays it as harmless but it is poison. This is not the first commodity presented as harmless or even helpful that ends up addicting people....et al Cocaine, heroin, etc...
cracked1 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I think women are generally less susceptible to it's harmfull efects.
Lyssa Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 That expression means if you are available they have first shot, Lyssa. A compliment no doubt. Aaah thank you, Cracked1! Unfortunately, that is how it starts for most people and slowly and insidiously takes over their lives as an addiction. The media portrays it as harmless but it is poison. This is not the first commodity presented as harmless or even helpful that ends up addicting people....et al Cocaine, heroin, etc... I guess it starts that way, yes. To some people, porn is cheating - if the H is watching way too much of it or even the W but what if a couple enjoys it together? Obviously that isn't cheating... am I right?

Unfortunately it can get out of hand and i don't fel it's good for your spirituality which is key to a person.
cracked1 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Consider this: how will you feel when your beautiful looks diminish and your husband is fantasizing about women 20 years younger? It's not good for intimacy and trust.
jdeedee Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I see. What happened to jdeedee? You know I only watched porn once? And it wasn't what you might think, it wasn't for me, or a guy, just a group of friends and they put one in. But other than that I've steered clear. Sorry Elven, work happened to me How have you been?
jdeedee Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I just read the last part of this thread. The funny thing about porn...I used to love it...all kinds. In the last, say, 2 years or so though my opinion has changed. Porn seems really empty and unfulfilling...sometimes it's just plain gross to me. I don't know what flipped the switch for me, but now I'm completely against it. I never loved porn but I did used to enjoy it more than I do now. I'm a bit torn about the whole thing. Full-on celibacy makes me really grumpy which, coupled with my depression and anxiousness right now, isn't a good place for me to be in. That said, I can't masturbate without thinking of specifics and the thought of getting it off to an ex or anyone in real life makes me feel intensly guilty right now. Porn, well with porn I usually feel a little less guilty and a bit more disgusted when the deed is over with. Perhaps thats why I don't do it more than a few times a week, I hold out as long as I can until I notice that it's becoming something I should get out of my system. Perhaps I should try full celibacy again?
Author ElvenPriestess Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 Sorry Elven, work happened to me How have you been? I'm ok, just cleaning the house up. Making it all pretty. Hmmm, full on celibacy. I don't know, I mean you gotta do what you gotta do, can't have all that sexual frustration build up with no release, it's not healthy. You can't get off with out something specific, ex's you don't feel good about, porn you are disgusted with yourself over. And you HAVE to have SOMETHING right? Now do you have to have a physical image? I mean, a tangible image, something you can actually see? Because if not then there are other possibilities.
jdeedee Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 When I don't watch a porno I usually end up thinking about a specific event, a good or really loving intimate time. Now whats bad with that is I'm still f'd up in the head and I'm going to feel guilty about fantasizing about a time with someone else if I don't think about the ex, and I really shouldn't be fantasizing about the ex.

Now whats bad with that is I'm still f'd up in the head and I'm going to feel guilty about fantasizing about a time with someone else if I don't think about the ex, and I really shouldn't be fantasizing about the ex. So you think that it's wrong of you to fantasize about some one and not your ex, because what, you owe her something? You owe her nothing. Why feel guilty? The two are NOT related. Now if you were happily in a relationship and fantasized about some other girl, there's a problem. But it's not the case. I think that reflecting and using a good memory to help yourself get along is fine. Nothing wrong with it. It was a good memory.
jdeedee Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Yea, its all about me learning to accept its over. I realised over the past week a lot of my issues with moving on and guilt is I feel like I never gave it my all in the relationship, furthermore I ended it. So now I feel really guilty towards her for not trying hard enough and feel a bit guilty about moving on cus I didnt try hard enough. I'd rather try celibacy than anything else right now.

We all make mistakes hun, it's apart of being human. It's done, no sense in thinking what could I have done differently? You'll just drive yourself into circles that way. Hey if that's what you feel is best then go with your instincts on it.

In fact i'm down to 210 from 220 in only 2 weeks. Other than that you can become a more spiritual person which most people don't have any value for. Give it a go j.

BeautifulMystique Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 So men do like women who dominate in bed?
Author ElvenPriestess Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 It's amazing what celibacy, grief and anger can do for you! This is what I call a positive focus to hardships. A way to harness the feelings in an upward light.
Author ElvenPriestess Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 So men do like women who dominate in bed? I know there's a lot to read on this thread, but alot of men go both ways, but also I've gotten great responses on men liking a dominating woman. Which works well to my advantage as that's my sexual nature;) How about you BM? What's your take?
cracked1 Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 So men do like women who dominate in bed? Yes it's all about the mind. Control, trust, intimacy etc.....
