xxoo Posted May 18, 2016 Share Posted May 18, 2016 I can't understand parents who are like this. Mind you, there are a lot of parents who don't understand my parenting style. I wrote all about how respectful and socially well rounded my daughter's friends are. And I know she's got a good head on her shoulders when it comes to choosing boys. But some adults are horrified when they learn that I'm OK with her being sexually active within a respectful relationship. I'd rather have an open dialogue, safety and no secrets than attempt to shut it all down and have her go sneaking about taking all kinds of risks. It's really hard to walk this line, I'm finding, without potentially being vilified by other parents--at the expense of your own kid.
