For that matter, I find nothing offensive about nudity, either. I'm amazed by people's ideas of morality. It's somehow distasteful to see a woman nursing her baby, yet these same people are titilated by scantily clad swimsuit models, sleazy porno, and childish sexual "humor". Maybe we have a f**ked up value system?

I am as down to earth as anyone but yea I would find it distasteful sure its natural and wonderful but then again so is being naked no? But I'm sure most of you wouldn't want to have everyone wondering around totally naked 24/7 would you?

"Wondering"....? I think you mean WAndering....

I've been to a naturist club, and it doesn't bother me at all.

I was actually in an British London Park one summer, and two guys strolled - yes, STROLLED! - through naked. I think it was a University stunt/dare.

Apart form the occasional glance, nobody raised an eyebrow. I think they were almost disappointed!! I also know that nobody stopped them, or apprehended them, and no arrests were made....

I don't see what the issue is tho there is no need to do it right in public view these days every mall/public place Ive been to has a mommy and me room just for such a purpose and their nice our local one has a leather couch and bottle warmers!

Oh, every single mom as access to at lest one of ten of these, in every shopping Mall in the western world... <Sarcasm>....and sometimes, yes, actually - there is the need.

I think the women who do it in public are just looking for attention thats JMHO on the subject unless maybe there in transit and theres no other option then I would just look away ok flame away lol :p

Ah yes... the "light blue touchpaper and stand well back" remark... designed to rile and irritate....

How like your dad you are..... !

Point taken but however answer this would you enjoy seeing a 80 year old grand dad in his birthday suit as your trying to eat your chow main in the food court? or how about a 250 pound women nude as day?

And just on a side note here I personally am not into scantly clad women sleazy porno or childish sexual humor I guess I'm a prude oh well lol..

That's what I don't really get. A woman nursing her baby is gross and distasteful, yet a chick in some ad, wearing a bikini with her boobs hanging out, is hot. Please don't breastfeed your baby in public but please do wear a V-neck shirt and bend over to pick up your pen so I can get a good view.

In other words, it's okay to gawk at a woman's chest when it's sexual, but it's gross when boobs aren't treated as sexual objects. Well, sorry, that's what they're there for.

And  at "they do it for attention." Because it feels so great to have people glare at you for feeding your baby.

Monkey Boy, It wouldn't bother me a bit. It takes a lot to get me off my feed.:D I'm a soldier, so I see things that are far, far, sicker than some old guy or fat woman in the altogether.

If its so embarrassing and there not doing for attention then why not use the facility's for it? I hope people don't take me the wrong way I just think theres a time and a place for everything and I believe in respecting others around me thats all..

People that have a problem with breast feeding in public should have to wear swastikas on there clothes. It is truly an anti freedom attitude.

There aren't always facilities for it. I personally have never seen these Mommy and Me rooms you mentioned.

I just don't see how it's disrespectful to people around you. The women I've seen breastfeeding in public have been discreet about it. I find people yelling into their cellphones more disruptive than someone breastfeeding.

Hahaha. You have to admit. A woman breast feeding in public does not infringe on your rights, but forcing her to go hid in a corner is infringing on hers. In fact, because this is America, she has the right to offend you all day.

:lmao:

This made me laugh and laugh- "looking for attention"!!!

Ha! The last thing a BFing mother feels like is an object of sexual desire.

Whats worse- a breastfeeding mother, or a mother with a screaming baby who won't give them what they want (boob) in public for fear of offending you. Oh wait- you'd probably be annoyed by the screaming baby too right?

Can't people just keep their babies at home?

Ive never been in a mall that didn't have a Mommy and me room honestly have you? again as I said lazy..

So breastfeeding mothers only hang out in malls?

Because when I am out for coffee or lunch or whatever, I don't want to sit in a room all on my own while my child feeds- it can take up to 30minutes, and thats time where I can sit and talk to my friends or eat or drink coffee.

I didn't find breastfeeding embarrassing at all- because as I said, the needs of my child came first and my needs came second- i didn't flaunt it in anyones face, if I was with anyone who didn't have kids I would ask them if they were OK with it, and it was a damn site better than having to sort out bottles. Have you ever tried to tip formula into a bottle with one hand?

its an art.

OK what the heck ill take one more stab at this the pastas not done yet lol.. Now if you look back you Will see were I said I can understand in situations were there is no facility's present. But not when there are IE like in most public malls now adays!

Ive actually seen a women in a food court with it completely out no modesty what so ever when about 5 feet away was a mommy and me room clear as day that I just cant understand.

To me yes it would infringe on others rights to be comfortable in public because it dose make some uncomfortable to see. So who's rights are worth more then?

Its black and white to me a case of like I said respecting others I by the way respect others views on the matter so looks like we can now agree to disagree.. ;)

If it came down to that, and you really want to know:

I think a mothers rights are worth more because not only they are providing food for a dependent human being, they are not using up additional resources (production of plastic bottles/ formula etc) and she is perpetuating the species.

You do not have the right to live without discomfort. In fact it is the duty of us all to live life as we see fit regardless of people's discomfort. Duty might be strong. It is at least our right to be ourselves. Women should be able to walk around topless anyway. Or suckling piglets. If anyone cares, that is their problem.

Posted

Actually, thats a good point SoM- if you skip a feed when you are breastfeeding, man do your boobs start to hurt.

Another reason to carry on as normal when you are out and about.

If you all will forgive another rant for a moment.

While I love breasts, there is nothing I despise more than GIRLS GONE WILD. Our insistence to make the breast a taboo section of skin has created the most detestable fixation with the breast. Soap commercials should have so much breast in them that GGW is worthless and anti-feeders loose this negative objection.

I don't like it, but I just look away and move on. No need to be bitchy about it.

All the power to them for being that comfortable in public. No way I'd be getting my tattas out in front of a bunch of people.

CE- thank you for expressing your opinion without being judgmental.

You're a sweetie.

It makes people uncomfortable to see lots of things, from same-sex couples just holding hands to guys with baggy pants and boxers sticking out to girls with thongs sticking out of their pants to obese people with sweatpants and so on and so forth. That doesn't mean those things infringe on other people's rights.

Exactly. There is a chance that someones face is more offensive than their breasts. But they should display their face proudly in spite of the offense it creates. And their breasts as well. Others be damned.

Isn't it the child's rights that are worth more? and that said the child can get the same nourishment wither fed in private or public no?

So there for its a sacrifice the mother makes to do it discretely instead of were ever suits her wants no? the mother doesn't always NEED to whip it out in middle of lunch hour.

On that last note people could have sex in public and perpetuate the species that way do we then have the right to?

Posted

Well its illegal to have sex in public.

And its not to breastfeed.

I get your point and my last post was to provoke thought.

Lets see how you feel when you have babies of your own.

I'm not trying to be judge mental I'm just asking you to see it from others view likewise I'm listing to yours as I said agree to disagree I'm sorry if you took it any other way Sb honestly wasn't meant to be..;):D
