I disagree.....I was beaten once in a while by my mom & dad. Never anything serious but it always made me think twice before doing bad things. I think for boys especially it is needed. But many times a mom cannot do it correctly by herself, she needs a man around to mete out the correct punishment. Unfortuanelty many single moms can't handle it.

 

You should watch some episodes of Leave it to Beaver....the show handles this subject quite well.

there is nothing a man can do that we can't do just as well. I've known plenty of people who's mother was the one that dolled out the punishments.

Then it really is AMAZING that you are stuck in the 1950's . No Alpha, I do agree that two parent home's are where a child will usually cope the best. While I may not agree on everything with you , I do see your view.

 

I think the point however that Dad's discipline better , is flawed . Dad's dicipline is certainly different and a home without a Dad will certainly require different techniqes than a two parent home .

First of all, thats not true. Well adjusted kids come from nurturing, caring home enviornments.... which as a shock to you, are not always two parent homes. You need to read a sociology book before you start stating what's 'fact'.

The expectations are only out of date when they are overarchingly not used anymore . Many many homes still hold onto the values that Alpha holds , thus the values are not expired.

 

While I may not agree with Alpha on this certain issue , you or I holding the other side of the issue will not mean that his is expired.

the idea that the man holds the power in the household is outdated and sexist. it just does not apply anymore. women have more power than they did in the days when men actually DID have the power.

The idea that the man holds all the cards is part of what holds women as a gender back.
