A) Manicure:hmmm who cares

B) Hairstyle: Its very important that they have good hair that isn't to short (8)

D) Fashionable clothes (not the same thing as flattering *wink*)

E) Makeup: I really could care less for make up. Please don't where to much (0)

H) Breast appearance: I like breasts to be nice and perky with great shape. Flat is not a good shape. Nipples should also be nice and make me want to pinch them. (9)

Then you missed the OP where she wrote the list was meant for a woman to:

improve their appearance to attract a mate.

I didn't miss anything with respect to the above, and stand by what I last posted verbatim. OP asked men to weigh in with which aspects of female beauty are most appealing to them, and stated that her reason for this is to gather some data on which types of efforts might be more productive in making oneself more attractive to the opposite sex. The question of a secure personality versus an insecure one is not at issue.

Secure people, male and female, the world over, seek to improve their appearance in the process of attracting a mate. This is nothing new or controversial. There is nothing mutually exclusive in being both secure and improving one's attractiveness at the same time. Surely you aren't claiming otherwise.

Either you have pride in your appearance for your own reasons, or you're doing it for all the wrong ones and it's a phony effort.

Oops, I guess you are. Are you really making the claim that maintaining one's appearance for oneself is mutually exclusive with maintaining one's appearance for the purpose of attracting the opposite sex? I don't see the necessity of the two being mutually exclusive.

THEY ARE ALL a 10 in priority!!! If you have one , but not the other it won't matter... this is a poll, so NOT every one is going to agree.. so to me, it's all tens..

A) Manicure - French manicures and well kept hands and feet are great.. long (reasonable) nails are IDEAL.. whether natural or the ones you get when you go to the nail places.. I've PAID more than once for my girlfreinds' nails to be done, b/c they were broke, and wanted to get them done.. I love em.

B) Hairstyle - Yeah.. definitely noticed... I prefer long, but have dated and had NO problem with shorter hair.., but do PREFER long.. the hairstyle is noticable when they do a different style.. but typically when the woman just goes get her hair "done" I might not notice.. happens to me all the time.. a freind who is female or gf might have to say "so do you like my new hair?"... lol.. to them it might seem a major change, but not noticable to me.. BUT if it is something like highlights, different style , new color, obviously it's noticable and worth a full TEN in the score.

C) Flattering clothes - flattering as in it enhances her body and body features.. also very important... I am going to answer C and D here. I always tell them, "i prefer to check you out dressed nice when we go out than some other woman.." and they do notice that my eyes aren't wandering around.. I'm focused on their nice blouse, or cleavage, or dress that shows her curves, etc... DOESN'T have to be pricey.. I've seen them dressed GREAT with clothes from Target and Walmart..

D) Fashionable clothes (not the same thing as flattering *wink*) ... As I said above, very important... If I take the time to buy nice clothes and dress nice , I would expect her to do the same, PLUS I do appreciate it and LET THEM know that...

E) Makeup - BIG difference when they do the makeup very detailed, ie eye liner, the shade on the top of the eyes, the lips, with even the "V" done in detail... NOT to say they don't look nice without makeup (ie when you wake up in the am)... One woman I've dated for a long period is tyipcally without makeup, but she makes an effort at times or when we've gone out to put makeup on, b/c she knows I appreciate it and let her know..

F) Perfume - OH wow... definitely... very sexy........... haven't you ever walked by a woman with perfume and it just smellsss so nice and sexy??

G) Body weight/shape - Obviously important... if she can wear a bikini she is ok by me.. and I don't mean like a size 3 or 4... but I guess the ladies can figure it out.. like no sagging belly...

H) Breast appearance - Nothing's gonna happen if they are not the right size, doesn't have to be large, but a handfull...breast implants? No problem, nice investment :) ... sagging? Well, I'll take it, most of the women I date are of age that they've had kids, so the tits are gonna sag, unless they've had a boob job...

I) Skin condition (including tanning, blemish reduction or any form of de-aging) - VERY important.. I don't want spots all over her body from the sun, or veins popping out of the top of her hands.. and I hope her skin feels smoother than mines, lol

What the....only 5 for hairstyle???????? I cut my long, beautiful hair for you for this dreadlock extensions and it is only 5???:mad:...why do I even bother?

VERY important to most men.. lol.. trust me it is noticed.

so stop bothering with manicures and the latest styles of clothes you saw on TV guys DOnT CARE get in shape then they will pay attention

Do you have a reputable source where you got that statistic that guys don't care about manicures or how they dress? I'd be interested to read on it..since it is totally the contrary of myself and any other male acquaintance / freind I've ever met... example... You are having lunch and there are two good looking women, one is wearing a nice dress and the other is in baggy jeans and some t shirt and flip flops with no make up... Hmmmm.. which would I pick? LOL, obviouly the better dressed one and classier one..

A) Manicure-6. If it were Pedicure, I'd list that as a 10 instead.

B) Hairstyle-4. Not a big deal to me.

C) Flattering clothes-6. Not super important

D) Fashionable clothes (not the same thing as flattering *wink*)=2. Don't really care.

E) Makeup-5. Depends on the situation. I feel as though it's best used on certain occasions, tho.

F) Perfume-1. Really not a big deal.

G) Body weight/shape-7.

H) Breast appearance-3. The size of her breasts aren't important to me.

I) Skin condition (including tanning, blemish reduction or any form of de-aging)-7. I'd prefer her skin to be nice. Not perfect or anything. I can deal with some blemishes.

I'm 22.

I love your beautiful new dreadlocks don't get me wrong, the red one, the gold one AND the green one, and especially how they carved an image of Haile Selassie in your scalp, but man can not live on Jah alone, he needs METH, and to get meth ya gotta have bread. Hope you understand, my little guantanamera.

LOL "little guantanamera". Yes, I do understand, still it hurts my feelings that I really did think the style and especially how I flip my dreads looked really HOT to you...only to find out it only rates 5 :(!

At least, I have a rockin' bod-thanks for demanding that I get a gastric bypass! :)

Everyone should write this down and refer back to it often - women and men.

It should be extended to not just your appearance but your whole person. Look in the mirror and change what you don't like about yourself. Get laser eye surgery, lose 10 pounds, or add 20, get a good hair cut or ask a friend to help you pick out nice clothes. Take an improv comedy class to think better on your feet, read the newspaper to stay current, and on and on.

The bottom line though is to do it FOR yourself, not what you think someone else likes. The only person's expectations you have a hope in hell of constantly meeting is your own.

Happiness is found within, not through your relationships with other people or what they think of you. Even if you're cock of the walk, that kind of ego inflation is dependent on others and can go in an instant.

Address your weaknesses, show off your strengths, and the opposite sex will flock to you. And even if they don't you'll love the person you are.

This is my perspective exactly, especially the part in bold.

I think a woman should have a look that reflects her personality. I don't like it when women purposely try to look like some celebrity, or wear unflattering clothes just because they're fashionable. Be yourself and let your look reflect that. I can't say I have a preference for a particular hairstyle, or body type, or that one thing is more important than another. It's the complete package that sells.

well what about beauty(facewise), that should also be on the criteria, so we can see if guys care more about the body than the face. like theyd date a girl w/ average face and nice body over a chubby girl w/ a beautiful face.

btw guys i understand what you need from women, from where i am the guys will put 10 on each. there are like 10 girls for 1 guy so the guys are spoiled to the hilt.

to be honest its expensive and really ..kinda laborious to be good looking all the time. manicure, perfume, pedicure, nice shampoo, lotions, conditioners, hair treatments at the salon, nice clothes, makeup alone can cost up to half of a girls salary..

u guys dont know what its like. so if u want a girl like that, prepare ur wallet.

and for men (giggle)

A) Manicure-1

B) Hairstyle-4

C) Flattering clothes-6.

D) Fashionable clothes (not the same thing as flattering *wink*)=5

E) Makeup-no make up lol

F) Perfume-7 needs to smell good for me

G) Body weight/shape-8 (i dont care if hes kinda big as long as he doesnt stink and can perform well in the sack)

H) Breast appearance- lol just not bigger than mine

I) Skin condition (including tanning, blemish reduction or any form of de-aging)-normal, but i dont really like tanned men that much, pale is ok as long as hes not paler than me lol

Good idea... someone should start a thread with specific options for the guys, and let the ladies vote :)

G... as in over weight big or working out big?

I completely agree. For me, nothing is less attractive than a girl trying to be a person who she is not.

I HAVE to find out where this girl is from. What she reported is incredible. Although with seven posts, I doubt I'll ever hear from her again.

Chick, you need to move to a more egalitarian area. From what you described, I can just imagine a horde of supermodels clawing each others' eyes out for a chance to stand next to Chris Farley. (Not that he wasn't a hoot, Zeus love him.)
