HONESTLY: what criteria for hot and ugly?

Okay. Although I dislike how guys classify/view girls as " hot" or "ugly", it IS a very real way that guys think of girls.

 

So, I am wondering what YOUR criteria is for " hot" or "ugly".

 

Yes, this is a brutal thing to talk about, but I want to know nonetheless.

 

For example; For ugly, is crooked teeth and pimples enough to constitute ugly? And, for instance, what are the typical measurements for " hot" ( 115 - 120 lbs, between 5 '4 and 5 ' 6, straight teeth and blemish free skin, and flat stomach)

 

SO: I want to hear from you GUYS, what things are needed to classify as " ugly" and "hot".

 

I know different guys are attracted to different girls; but within your range, are there any set requirements needed? For instance, to be " hot", do you at least have a weight range?

Hot is all relative. A hot girl to be is one that I want to have sex with because of her physical appearance. There is a standard for hot but I guess hot legs, in shape, curves in the right places, etc.

 

There were girls I didn't think were hot at the start but, after I spoke to them, my opinion changed.

I'm 5'7, within a healthy bmi but way over 120 pounds and all I can tell you is this: once you've got an average to good physique, hot is all about your attitude.

 

It's not how much you weigh, it's how you carry yourself with pride and interact with men. A mixture of genuine interest and independence.

 

It's flirting with them, teasing them, letting them feel you find them attractive.

 

It's being able to maintain a witty conversation with them.

 

It's making them feel like you have it together and you have it going on.

 

It's about not being hung up on yourself and really getting to know the men you're talking with.

 

It's focusing on your strengths and what you like about yourself and putting that forward. For instance, I'm a bit goofy. There are guys out there who love goofy. I enjoy myself and have a great time with guys who are goofy. Therefore, when meeting new cute guys, I would let my goofiness shine.

The reason why that is, is because a girl can have the best attitude in the world, average figure, and still be 'meh'. I don't really recall thinking a woman was hot over her intangible characteristics. I might say she's an awesome woman, but even then, the physical characteristics will determine how hot she is.

 

Hot women usually carry their weight well. The bodies usually follow the coke bottle formation, or somewhat similar. (big chest, small waist, nice hips). However, this is also an exception because some women compensate in different ways (such as a small chest, but amazing hips and thighs). The face also has to pretty much be beautiful, this is a huge factor.

Back when I was single, I had an epiphany that really simplified my dating life:

 

Men love getting attention from women. That's a good thing. Ladies, use it to your advantage.

 

Also, in my experience, most guys are a lot more lenient than we girls think they are when it comes to judging women's physique - with the possible exception of Mr Nate . As a male friend of mine once said: "Straight men love women!" Punto.

Hot is really mostly about looks. If we were discussing what makes a woman an awesome partner, then obviously we would list different things. But seeing as this thread is about what makes a woman hot, I must say it falls mostly on physical features. Attitude is really irrelevant. I mean, a woman can be confident in her looks, but in the end, that doesn't really matter in determining if she's hot to me or not.

In my opinion, a "hot" girl has a symetrical face, clear skin, an attractive smile with straight teeth, and an athletic body (or at least not a fat body). They usually have shiny hair that is straight, although sometimes girls with curly hair can also be hot.

 

An "ugly" girl can be obese, have really bad skin (e.g., with pockmarks), a physical disfigurement, ratty hair, or sometimes even very odd body proportions (e.g., a tall woman with very narrow shoulders but very wide hips - it just looks weird).

Leigh met a guy at her gym who flat out told her she was hot and still, she worried that she wasn't hot enough. That's why I'm focused on trying to get her to stop focusing so much on her looks and start enjoying flirting with men.

 

I'm speaking from personal experience in saying that once I changed my own attitude, I suddenly got a lot more guys telling me I was hot.

 

I used to worry, like Leigh, that maybe I wasn't attractive enough to approach guys. Like guys would be offended or something if I flirted with them. I would therefore be stand-offish, remote, too focused on myself to enjoy myself when I met cute guys.

 

Then at one point I stopped caring about whether or not I had the looks and started accepting that I don't have to be Kim Kardashian to flirt with guys. I wasn't flirting with George Clooney was I?

 

I realized guys love attention from women, be they average looking or bona fide hot. That's when guys started telling me I was hot. So there is something to how you project yourself. Attitude does play a part in women realizing that they are hot. Right now it sounds like Leigh is trying to figure out how to put what she knows she has, a hot physique, into flirting practice. Sounds to me like she wants to start putting herself out there but is struggling to get over the hurdle of "Am I hot enough?". Hence my advice. Become approachable and you will realize that yes, you are hot enough.

 

It's hard to explain. It's the difference between talking to someone who is insecure and talking to someone who is confident and therefore won't treat the conversation as being directly linked to their sense of self-worth. I think a lot of young girls in their twenties struggle to understand the difference. They're so caught up in getting the right look that they don't realize attracting a guy is not all about physique. You say yourself, there's a difference between being physically hot and being an attractive partner. These physically hot girls likely get approached by a ton of guys, but that doesn't mean the guy will stick around for a make out session. Making out is so much more enticing when you've been laughing all night.

 

It sounds, from this thread and others, like Leigh has every physical trait that makes a woman hot and all she is missing is that come-hither smile, know what I mean? The elusive 5% you mentioned.

'hot' and 'ugly' is really not bound in any height, weight, skin color etc, criteria. It's something some people are born with.

 

There are limits as to what can be considered 'hot' though. You cannot be on the heavy side (bmi must be low, 18-23), you cannot have ugly rotten teeth (think meth mouth), too much acne, there's heaps to list. generally any of those 'ailments' mentioned at their extremes.

 

There are certain characteristics that attractive people possess (too many to list look them up on Google, Chicago guy mentioned some), but, you have to remember that its how these characteristics come together and make a pleasing whole, because some of these characteristics are found on average to ugly people too.

I know it is not healthy to fish for compliments. But look, I am an honest person; I am the type of girl who will talk about anything. Nothing is off limits for me.

 

While I am a very nice and accepting person, I also like to talk about looks. Plain and simple. I like a little vaity and shallow talk. I am a visual girl. I like fashion magazines. I like thin models. I like an honest discussion on ones physical attributes, and limitations.

 

I am very much in the process of finding out if I AM hot or not. I know I am not ugly. But I am just finding my way, in terms of notonly flirting with guys and trying to get SOME sort of sex life ( OMG after 4 years), but also I need to be realistic, and know WHAT sort of guy I can attract.

 

And even if I AM hot enough for ONE attractive guy, there will be OTHER guys who are NOT attractive, who WILL NTO find me hot at all!

 

So I realize one hot guy may find me hot, where as a lesser attractive guy will NOT find me appealing visually. I KNOW different guys like diff things.,

 

Again, I am a visual person myself, I like the female body; I do not have sexual feelings towards girls, but I very much appreciate the female body in ALL its forms, and am simply facinated in what men find desirable.

Fair. Not tanned, the oppitite. I also like thicker eyebrows - I like the natural look.

 

Getting a good professional eye brow waxer is SO KEY. How well a womens eyebrows are groomed, is SO ESSENTIAL to their over all face frame.

 

Good brows make the face look more symmetrical, among other things.

 

So I have great eye brows LOL. It has been key to making the MOST of what I have.

 

Girls with blond eyebrows need not bother much - natural is best. But girls with darker brows look SO much better with a professional shape - sticking tot heir natural shape, but enhancing it slightly. Only slightly.

Maybe you're right. I'm not arguing that hotness isn't physical. My point isn't that any woman with the right attitude can be hot. My point is that you don't have to be the hottest girl in the room to enjoy men's company or to get attention from men.

 

Likewise, you don't have to be the hottest woman in the universe to meet interesting, sexy, charming guys.

 

My bf thinks I'm the hottest thing since jalapeno peppers and yet, I would have never known that had I not had the courage to flash him a smile from across the room at a public function. The only reason I flashed him that smile is because I was confident enough to do it. That confidence came from within, not from an elaborate analysis of my measurements. It came from the fact that I have a history of fun, flirtatious conversation with cute guys. It came from the fact that I didn't think I had to be the hottest woman in the room to deserve respect and attention from men.

I'm starting to realize (from other threads actually) that when girls self-sabatoge themselves and guys they appear to be interested in it's due entirely to insecurities. Fix these and you get rid of the self-sabatoge that is preventing you from getting with guys who are interested AND act interested.

From a woman's perspective, I think a combination of looks and attitude/personality make a woman hot, not just one or the other. As far as physical attractiveness, beautiful skin and nice teeth are a must, as is shiny hair. I am nearly obsessive about my skin because if you have nice skin, you wear less makeup and you just look healthier in my opinion. Same way for teeth...I work very hard to keep my teeth white and they are nice and straight thanks to braces when I was younger! I also feel if you have something unique about you, you appear more attractive. There are so many overly tan, blue-eyed, blond women out there that I don't find the look to really be that hot. However, a dark headed woman with green or blue eyes is exotic and very attractive. Freckles are a nice touch as well...I never liked having freckles when I was younger but it makes me unique and I love them now, although I don't have near as many as when I was a kid.

 

As far as personality, funny always wins in my book. I am instantly attracted to funny, witty men and I am drawn to funny women. I have a quick wit and am rarely serious and have been told it is one of my best personality traits. Not being afraid to be goofy, having confidence and showing genuine interest make you very attractive I feel.
