Dante311 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I started a thread recently about how I've been dating only really good-looking, buff guys lately (random luck), and NONE of them has struck me as a guy looking for anything more than sex and fun. And hey, I'm thinking about it, even though that's not my style. But I'm not going to stop dating supercuties entirely. Maybe I will meet that rare gem, like yourself, who has a great brain and a great heart to go with the bangin' body. I mean, isn't that what we're all looking for? Well guys like MrNate and myself ARE Out there. We're just not as common, but when you find one of us... do not be obsessive (don't think you would be!) but don't let him go! And I hope I find a lady like yourself
MrNate Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I'm not a powerlifter... i'm into hypertrophy training. However I, again in a non-conceited way, have SO much going for me physically... yet, this stereotype on guys like us has destroyed me... literally. I'm not some douche who can **** hundreds of girls nd move on with no consideration... and we draw in the girls who are desirable and want us, but EXPECT (subconsciously) to be abused/rejected and keep coming back...and when you give to them... they run away because they're not getting what they're used to. it kind of sucks. It sounds strange.. I guess you have to be in my shoes, but something tells me YOU are MrNate? Yeah. A lot of times most people (women) won't look me in the eye. I don't really frown or anything, but I guess my size (despite my big smile haha) is just a bit intimidating or something. At times, something about me feels off putting, but I can't quite get a finger on it. My best guess, would have to be my build, and that it's making me come off as a bit off-putting, ha. I'm so confused right now to be honest. I'd like a good answer from somewhere. Maybe I should look more innocent? No idea...
Dante311 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yeah. A lot of times most people (women) won't look me in the eye. I think, 'holy ****, am I ugly as **** or something???' I've been with some really attractive women.. but A LOT of girls that I think / believe / see to be attractive and worth getting to know (AND NO, I DON'T SLEEP AROUND!!!) lol ..heh had to throw that in there... ..won't even look me in the eye, but sometimes I can catch them checking me out.. or at least I think/believe they are... then I tell myself, 'no... they can't look me in the eye when I walk by HER... she can't be checking me out'.. heh please tell me you do the same thing LOL

This is good to read. A great reminder. I've always been in pretty good shape, but lately, I am investing more time and energy into my health and fitness as well. I want to make it just as easy for my sexy man (wherever he may be, haha) to get excited about me as I do him.

You have no idea. That scenario happens to me all the time. Maybe I should just lose some muscle and get skinny? Either that or buy a leather pancho.

I seriously think these girls are intimidated unless we make the first move... and I'm not THAT guy that's going to pounce every woman. I only want one that will give her her unto me, no strings attached... like I would for her.

It sounds strange.. I guess you have to be in my shoes, but something tells me YOU are MrNate? I will fully admit that when I see a guy with an amazing body, at least if he's in a position where he's showing it off (at the gym, or shirtless somehow [even at the beach!]), I assume he's a douche. I don't know why. I guess I jump to conclusions and assume he's vain... Even the other day at Crossfit, there was this guy who was incredibly hot (looked a lot like Hokie, actually ) and for a second I thought, "Oh, total player/douche guy, he's GOT to be." (I thought this instinctually, even though deep down I really do know better!) And then I started talking to/training with him, and realized... holy hell, he's a normal dude, just like everyone else. He just comes in a better looking package than most... and that package doesn't come from vanity, but just a desire to take good care of the body his soul's being carried around in.

About 7 months ago I met a girl... struck up a conversation with her, but I forget about what. She was one of those girls I thought was checking me out, but I thought it was my imagination. To make a long story short... she confided in me that at the gym, she thought I was just another jock-douche-******* with a good body who was vain, conceited, arrogant... and was really glad she got to know me"... ..when I'm in the gym I am not a social happy body. I am there to lift... train... workout... heh

I've come a long way. Squats were the best thing to happen to my life. You'll definitely find a keeper bud!
SteveC80 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 If youre good lookign and have a body with nice muscles you can pretty much have your pick of women Ive learned as much as Men like a nice body on a women deep down women are even more turned on by muscles My friends wives are always caressing my muscles and flirting with me over my body Its kinda creepy to be honest but it just gives you an idea that women cant help themselves over a nice body

I am there to lift... train... workout... heh I think it's because there are a lot of people who work out, exercise, are active, just because they enjoy it and want to be healthy. People like me. But to get to the level of you guys (really lean, yet built and cut), you have to reeeeeally work at it. What inspires that work? Most people assume it's vanity... vanity geared towards attracting as much female attention as possible. And super duper hot female attention at that. So when a girl doesn't think she's the female equivalent of your body (and most women won't be, we're just not built to be that lean, at least), we feel... inadequate. Hence the lack of eye contact, I suppose. But I make eye contact. I almost stare and drool. Not really, but you know what I mean.
gypsy_nicky Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I been seeing some height threads on here lately. Its a plus but its not that big of a deal. The one quality that can beat everything else including height is how fit you are. the one quality that 'fitness' cannot beat is the dude's face.

Squat... b/c somewhere out there, some chick is warming up with your max! You're a naughty woman the drive, dedication, motivation are all intrinsic for me. It is stringency with my diet, lifting schedule, and lifestyle. I try to be physically active... eat well and a lot... and plan my week in advance for my resistance training + aerobic fitness + stretching, which is mostly static. heh... it helps to be a CPT, a physiologist, and a specialist in health & fitness.

Assume but most usually it's the case (vanity and admiration) why guys tirelessly strive to look like chiseled statues.
Dante311 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 anyhow, Nate, SG.. nice chatting. SG, i've missed you ttyl! I'm off to bed.
MrNate Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Thanks man. I take it you already have! Nah. But I'm finally at the point to where I'm ready to start looking. I'm a bit anxious actually.. You know what they say? Squat... b/c somewhere out there, some chick is warming up with your max! Funny you mention that: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bennadel.com/resources/uploads/squat_cause_somewhere_out_there_girl_doing_your_max.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bennadel.com/blog/1465-Project-HUGE-My-First-Leg-Workout-After-Active-Release-Technique-ART-.htm&usg=__Rb24VsziBlH2yH4aqoHBOnXpWAw=&h=681&w=545&sz=50&hl=en&start=1&zoom=1&tbnid=KkWhBwMIVYLcyM:&tbnh=139&tbnw=111&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsquat%2Bwarming%2Bup%2Bwith%2Byour%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D597%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1 ha
Dante311 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Nah. But I'm finally at the point to where I'm ready to start looking. I'm a bit anxious actually.. Funny you mention that: ha ROFL.. I LOVE that picture. that chick has a NIIIIIIIIIICE ass. and by nice ass, i'm sure she has the personality to boot. And Nate... you will find the one... and amazing 'the one'. A guy like you. I'm sure of it.
Ruby Slippers Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I seriously think these girls are intimidated unless we make the first move... and I'm not THAT guy that's going to pounce every woman. I only want one that will give her her unto me, no strings attached... like I would for her. Yeah, I'm NEVER going to make the first move on a guy, any guy, and definitely not some serious looker! A woman would have to have balls of steel to do that, and... I'm not there yet. But when a man you find very attractive shows interest in you and starts trying to make you smile, you feel like the queen of the world.
Dante311 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I know in America you need to be jacked or very large for a man (even fat) to get even an average looking girlfriend, but I've always been curious what women in other countries do. Most countries outside of America don't have as much musclemen walking around everywhere, most guys have a slender, toned build like myself. I lift weights to be physically stronger, but i still probably look small and women always make a big stink about it because I'm 5'7 and 135 lbs, but that's just how my genetics are. I can't wait to get out of this country. I don't know... recently in good ole 'Merica them little wimmens want them skinny little boys that grow their hair long... with freaky colors, see... and then the tight jeans with those retro shoes (the shoes are cool, I will admit)... and the eccentric tattoo designs... and the distorted piercings.... ...g-d gave men and women ears... don't stick a sectional piece toilet paper role in the lobes and call it art... that's just ****ed up ... that is my conservative opinion on that matter. heh
EasyHeart Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I think it's generally the same for men and women. We're each attracted to different body types -- some women will like thinner guys, some will like bigger guys, some will like buff guys. Men are the same -- some of us like women with fuller figures, some of us like thinner women. But the one thing that's common among all of us, I think, is that we're attracted to people who look healthy and fit. There was a thread a week or so ago that asked men what we like best, and the only thing we agreed on is that we like fit women who aren't overweight. I think this thread is basically saying the same about men. Women prefer fit men to scrawny men and pot-bellied men, but I've also noticed that most of my women-friends turn up their noses at really muscular men ("it's gross!" or "He's way too into himself") I think that the female equivalent of when we men see women with really fantastic bodies who obviously know it and flaunt it. That's always been a turn-off to me, even if my instincts are to be attracted to her. In other words, I think attitude is key. Having a good physique will naturally get people to notice you, but how you carry it is the most important thing.
WalkingtheAbyss Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I have to agree with Warlord on his opinions. No two people are alike and that goes for national opinions. I'm six one, weigh in at 15 stone and have very broad shoulders. I'm not overly musclebound and have a bit of a belly but that doesn't stop me getting attention. Its almost like saying that all women to be attractive should be about six foot, size 8 and have breasts like Pamela Anderson. Everybody will have somebody out there that will fall for them no matter how they look, buff or not.

I think this is more of a self-preservation instinct that anything else, I think many men/women who turn up their nose at the extremely attractive do so as a knee-jerk reaction. They see something that they don't believe they could ever have whether from a relationship standpoint or in a competitve standpoint (say an average guy looking at a ripped man and insulting him because he could never be that ripped). I believe this is an extension of that small negative person inside all of us who would rather insult people who have more than us than like them just out of jealousy/inferiority. None of which of course is true as you can have/be/get whatever/whoever you want. But many people will resort to insults/repulsiveness rather than admit to themselves that they think their worse.
Gattica Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I have to be honest and say that it isn't that much of a priority. Face is more important than body and I like faces with character. Suspect I am in the minority though! I agree. Height/weight aren't the most important things to me. I am much more drawn to the face AND hands of a man. I have dated all heights and I have dated skinny men, to men with moobs, to amateur bodybuilders. Physically, it all comes down to how attracted I am to the face of a man.
