I'm from the UK too and dating to me does not equate to a relationship. Dating is dating, a relationship is a relationship as expressed in the Oxford English Dictionary.

aaah so you are from the UK and you think dating below your league is ok... interesting.

Same thing for relationships. Men tend to adapt their expectations to women who accept them whether it's early dating or staying in relationships. Moreover, how are we to know when anyone is truly "dating up" or "dating down" based on appearance alone?

Don't want to turn this into another gender-baiting thread, or rather a U.S. gender baiting thread, and had typed more, but that's all I'll say on that.

didn't mean appearance although that would play a big part in it

Clearly the education system in the UK needs to revamped, where have I said that dating below your league is ok? I haven't because a) I don't believe in leagues b) dating means dating to me and a relationships mean relationships, they are two different concepts in the dating world and c)I've always believed that if you demand high standards then you should apply those same standards to yourself. For instance if a man wants a woman who makes $150,000 a year then he had best be earning near enough the same amount, if not more.
