Wow congrats!!!

I don't know what the heck is happening with me. I am fluctuating between 3 pounds, up and down. I can't even really tell about losing weight or not because I don't look drastically different. Maybe this is just the weight I am meant to be at unfortunately. I just see skinny girls and I wish that was me. It probably never will though, unless I pretty much starved myself and worked out every single day for like 2 hours. (which isn't healthy and I don't want to do). So I guess I'm stuck at this weight.

The best major part to achieve success in your weight loss program is watch what you eat. You must be aware of what you are eating, just like many types of breads and cereals pretend to be "whole grain" with clever marketing while in reality the first ingredient in them is refined flour. I google some ways to loss weight effectively and I found some great article like this, hope it can help you too. http://tinyurl.com/36llc9s

I had a bad weekend as I was out most of it. Try eating healthy on the run.

Okay, it's time for me to join this thread. Gained 27 lbs while pregnant and have dropped 21. There are 6 more pounds to go but as well, since I was confined to bed rest for the last trimester+, my body is mooshy and still recovering. Went for a 5 km walk on Saturday on the beach and woke up sore on Sunday morning. A sad state.

As I was saying to another member, my body reminds me of waking up brain dead. It doesn't feel right at all so I can't wait until it does!!

And as I said to you then- it will get there!

Slowly but surely. It takes 9 months worth of changes to make a baby, stands to reason that it will take some time to get back.

True!

And for certain, I won't be getting any cosmetic and plastic surgery, if it doesn't return exactly "as was". But a personal trainer might not be a bad idea if I don't see much improvement in the next couple of months. I'm truly sick of a body that doesn't react the same way so I'm dedicated to getting it back into weight and shape.

I think personal trainers are a rip off..I went for a free consultation when I joined a new gym and this man tried to tell me I have a poor BMI and I need to lose a lot of weight. Which I don't! He tried to pressure me also when I had already told him I had to consult with my SO about it. He didn't care though.

There may be some good ones out there, but you can find the same exercises on the internet!

Oh also, I didn't mean to offend anyone who does have one. I'm sorry if I did!

Thanks for the tip. The most telling thing a purported personal trainer can say is to make a reference to BMI. He should have used a caliper to get a better understanding of your body fat percentage.

A friend of mine has a personal trainer that she highly recommends. If it gets down to it, I'll go to him. Hopefully not since I really hate gyms and prefer to work out at home.

My PT is a friend with a couple of degrees in sports science/ physical education, and specialises in pre-and post natal exercise, she has been amazing.

She also gave me a few great home based workouts- I can share them with you when the time comes anyway TBF. I agree re: BMI- post natally it means nothing.

If you want a good book to peruse, check out this one, my PT based most of my post natal programmes around these core strengthening exercises.

You can get started straight away!

TBF, I recommend some workouts by Tracy Anderson. I think you can find her on youtube, if you don't want to buy the dvds. She has this post pregnancy workout which does wonders for mommies.

My time to join in. I'm trying desperately to tone up for summer. I don't really need to lose weight per-say, although I would like to drop a few pounds. I have a small frame so a few extra is pretty noticeable.

I hate my legs, always have. I don't know if I have a touch of body dismorphic disorder or what, but I reaaally dislike them. I have cellulite in both my upper thigh area and on my calves... have had it even as a teenager weighing 100 lbs. It's not awful cellulite, but it's there and visible in the bad light that I try to avoid. My legs are definitely my problem area... when I drop a few pounds I like them a little better, but I want them toned. I think they have potential because my upper half looks great, but maybe that means nothing, I dunno. I wish we could target certain areas for weight loss but I know we can't, so I'll just have to keep at the cardio and weights. Sometimes I feel like a "skinny-fat person"... you know the type: thin but flabby and unimpressive.

My upper body is really toned but I'm not loving how I now have to battle 'chalkboard arm' syndrome. If I flex my triceps they're still plenty firm and there's not a lot of 'extra' to speak of, but the looseness in their relaxed state bothers me. Not quite sure how to fix that so I guess I'll have to incorporate more weights for the tri's into my workouts, along with trying to eat better.

That to me is the hardest... the eating right. I sit a lot at my job and I love to snack, which is fine as long as I can keep it healthy and the portions small. People bring crap food in frequently though, and it's really hard to resist some days. I work with mostly heavy people who don't give much thought to healthy eating, so I've got to be determined! :bunny:

Thanks ladies. One thing I have to be careful of, is to not re-injure my back. A number of years ago, I hurt it badly by "skiing like a 17 year-old guy" through moguls. The quote came from my chiropractor.

So what I'm concerned about is that my stomach muscles aren't in the shape they were prepregnancy, so I have to be careful until they get stronger.

You most certainly do. That Julie Tupler book is brilliant for exactly that.

It shows you the precise exercises you need to do to gradually strengthen your abdominal muscles back up so they are supporting your lower back properly again.

So walking only! My abs feel pretty good now, they still aren't to where they were, but I no longer get backache. It really does take time, so take it easy.

Bump's having a bad night so here I am, still awake. My sched's been turned a bit upside down with napping during the day to supplement for the 3 hours between night feedings.

I've been keeping my exercises to yoga and walking. Next week, I'm going to start pilates again but basically floor exercises only so there's no back strain.
