If she gets back home from the hospital and goes back to this lifestyle (as she likely will because it is a daily habit of hers) she will likely hurt herself more unintentionally. She will probably be on different drugs after the operation and new drugs can cause new side effects. Call lifeline... start there. If they don't give you suggestions that sound good, then consider calling the social worker, talk to your sister and team up, moral support is always good.
