Is it possible for to maintain a healthy friendship with male friend?

We've been friends since 14 - we're 26 now.

How is it fishy to want to keep a good friend in my life? Because the truth is that he is the only friend that has stuck by me through thick and thin. Others have ducked out or disappeared throughout the years but he has remained. He is also still one of the most interesting and thoughtful people I know.

I don't think deciding to end a friendship is a decision to take lightly.

Assuming this is you, you were trying to move on and people advised you to and maybe you did. Now after a year you are going back to considering to stay in his as a friend... I would strongly suggest against that.. cherish the time spent together but moving on is better

I have female friends mostly, since I can't get along with the vast majority of men (unless I'm drunk as hell). I have to disagree with Cookies, some guys like me just rather be with girls because they are socially smarter, which means they are more open to talk about deep/emotional issues.

So yeah, it's possible.
