Is 30 too old to start dating?

Pretty much when you're dead it's too late to date.

Other than that, anyone can start, or become successful, at any time in life. There are billions of people in the world and endless opportunities. If you want to try it, try it.

As a fellow late bloomer, I didn't start getting physical with girls until maybe 21/22, I know how much this can suck. In my experience though, the hard part was just getting the courage to ask the girl out, go for the kiss, initiate sex, etc. Once that ball was rolling, everything else was intuitive. My first gf (when I was in college) didn't even know I was a virgin! "Fake it until you make it" are words you should live by in my opinion. Fake confidence (until you build it), fake experience, etc. In this case, being honest will actually hinder you.

If you're 30 and haven't lost your V card, go see an escort! But yeah not too late to start dating, just be prepared for a lot of trial & error.

I can't use an escort for the same reason I haven't dated.

I never understand why people like to suddenly declare themselves old at 30? The average human lifespan is 70 some odd years. You gonna spend the next 40 years being "old" and alone?? Get over the age thing. This is your only shot at life. LIVE IT.

What does that mean?

Unless the reason is religious.

Q. Is 30 too old to start dating?

A. No !

Next question ?! :D

But it is when women are so judgemental about a guy who hasn't had a date by 30.

I've never understood that either, even 25 year olds think they are "so old" now. I mean at 30, you will still most likely be working for another 35 years.

I'll consider myself old when I have to get up 5 times at night to take a p!$$ :p

:laugh::laugh:

There is no religion in the world that loosens its grip at 30.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I notice the conflicting verb tenses:

I can't use an escort for the same reason I haven't dated.

Culture? Maybe the parents died, and now the arranged marriage doesn't have to happen.

Physical? Massively overweight? Missing penis? Painfully contorted? Only a head in a jar, ala Futurama?

Mental? Fear of women? Performance anxiety? Social anxiety disorder?

It is a mysterious thing to say. But I'm with you on this one.

What does that mean?

I actually almost did this. On the plus side using an escort is the easiest way to have sex. Some of them are pretty cute as well.

On the other hand using an escort can feel lame. I mean most people can have sex for free and you have to pay for it? And to lose your virginity on top of that?

I haven't ruled it out completely. For now though it's a no go.

Did she ever find out? Or is it something she will never know?

If you think youre too old then stop dating and be alone for the rest of your life. Thats the only outcome really, if you think 30 is already too old. Silly question.

Having said that, as the more experienced one in the relationship, it's sometimes tiring to have to always tell him what's up and what's expected of a BF.

That's why I'm single; I don't want the burden of having to meet any more "expectations" than I already do in life.

I only suggest seeing an escort so you'll find out sex is nothing special, its all about being with the right person.

Some men get hung up on still having their V Card and its a quick way to get rid of all that baggage so you can focus on the task at hand.

Plus a little experience never hurt anyone. Keep in mind most escorts are very clean, much more so than the kind of people doing one night stands every night at the bar.

Go for it!!! Never too late.

Oh really? It's easy for women to say in an abstract sense to go for it, but how many women want to give a 30 year old man his first date, his first kiss, his first relationship, his first sex? Anybody?

Yes, really.

You'd teach a 30 year old man in bed that has no idea what he's doing? He can look on the net on what to do but that's no substitute for the real thing. He's never been in a fight with a girlfriend before or met a girlfriend's parents before because he's never had one. I'm skeptical that even one percent of women would have the patience. Not saying you wouldn't.

Yeah sure, i dont really give a crap. I'm pretty inexperienced myself, so not sure if i would be much of a "teacher" and would prefer not to look at it that way. Having said that, I'm not looking for a relationship.

Why not just let the woman decide before deciding for her?

Dude I feel you. I'm in the same position as you except I'm 28. I've actually been on a few dates and with one woman it almost came to sex though unfortunately it didn't happen. I've never actually felt close enough to a woman to reveal my inexperience though and from what I read on loveshack I should just keep my mouth shut about it. Maybe you should do the same?

lol .... I felt old at 30 cause I wasn't considering that I will live until 70, instead I was comparing my age to people who were late teens and 20's and in relation to them, I was old!

I felt old until I hit 35 (I am 37)... now I DO consider that I will live to at least 70...and in relation to that age....hell I am young!!!

It's a mental thing....

That misses the point. A 30 year old doesn't have to feel old. But a 30 year old who's never dated is waaaaaaaaaay out of the norm and is going to have it very difficult when he tries.

The conclusion has to be that if he hadn't had even a single date by 30, he's extremely unlikely to ever succeed and it is too late to start. It's not the PC answer but the honest answer. Women want to date men, not kids.
