Pfiend101 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 If you came into a guys house you had been dating and he had a poster of a girl that was naked but you cant see anything. What would your reaction be. My perspective is. It's my apartment and until someone pays my rent they cant tell me what I can and cant have. Basically. Is it a deal breaker?
redmelon Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 it would be okay if he still lives with his mother and she packs his lunch and stuff, otherwise, no. It's tacky and shows no forethought.

Is it a deal breaker? but whose is the picture? an ex? some relative? yes deal breakers. Or.. is it is just some random woman...kim kardashian, gisele bundchen...etc.etc...meh...sure they are taller..but they got nothing on me....of course, I am delusional, that's why it would not matter.

Sound a bit like a highschooler thing to have up. I don't know so much if it would be a deal breaker but it would turn me off in a huge way. I would be thinking 'well if this is what I wanted I should start attending highschool football games to pick up boys'.
Author Pfiend101 Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 like a penthouse poster. Not an ex or anything lol
Alma Mobley Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 What kind of poster is it -- is it just some random chick naked for titillation or is it an art poster, something like Man Ray?
Citizen Erased Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I had absolutely no problem with this when I was 16. Now, if my 29 year old fiance had something like that I'd think he'd need to grow up. And I'd tell him that. But I'd never tell him to take it down.
Alma Mobley Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 like a penthouse poster. Not an ex or anything lol We x-posted. I would find it a turn-off because that seems immature. I'm interested in men, not the high-school set.
Author Pfiend101 Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Not art. Just some random hot chick.
Author Pfiend101 Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Interesting responses. I like it.

Sounds like majority rules here... it is immature and tacky. It should be taken down if you want to enter the world of grown ups.

johan Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 If she's naked in the poster, how can you not see anything? I don't get it. Can't see anything obscene. Turned sideways, arms and legs positioned certain ways, etc.
Citizen Erased Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Can't see anything obscene. Turned sideways, arms and legs positioned certain ways, etc. Of course you would know what he was talking about...perve.
CLC2008 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Can't see anything obscene. Turned sideways, arms and legs positioned certain ways, etc. Oh, so its like a silloutte (sp-?) of a female figure, got it.
sanskrit Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Depends on the quality of the poster, if it's "beer ad" or "Axe body spray" quality or something that looks like it originated in Maxim, nix it, if it has some artistic merit, though, don't let anyone dictate what you hang in your own house until you are cohabitating fairly seriously. As an adult, stuff on your walls should generally be framed and covered with glass or plexi. Anything not framed probably shouldn't be up if you want people to think you are a grownup. However, some guys use obnoxious posters and other decorations to keep women from getting too comfortable in their house So it depends on your goal.

Are you the one who has N-Sync posters up in the "karaoke room?" or am I thinking of someone else?
Knittress Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I'm not one to dictate how one can or can't live, but if I saw that I'd automatically think lower-class-than-me and lose absolutely all sexual interest. But it's more the 'poster' aspect than the 'naked chick' aspect. If you had arty, sophisticated, naked chicks - this I would find hot.

I have a poster of six women near-naked (showing their backs with buttcrack showing). The only difference is that on their backs are Pink Floyd's six biggest albums. http://markpknowles.com/wp-content/uploads/pink_floyd.jpg Would this qualify as being a deal-breaker? Kinda curious.

This is borderline art. Debatable, but art still. None of the above should be a deal breaker, but with highschoolish posters like the one OP is talking about would be a turn off. I think this one actually looks kinda cool. With a frame around it, this could pass for grown up.
EasyHeart Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 It depends how old you are. I think every college guy has some pictures like this, be it posters or calendars or whatever. But once you're out of school or over 25, it's time to lose that stuff. As to your GF, it's none of her business what you put on your walls. But it's also her option to take a walk. . . .
kiss_andmakeup Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I would consider it extremely juvenile and white-trash-y. It would never come to me making him take it down; in fact it's likely that if he has a poster like that in his apartment, he has other qualities that would make him undateable to me (I said likely, not definitely) such as immaturity and lack of class. Kids in high school buy those posters and think about what it might be like to get some. Once you've actually gotten pussy, take it off your wall.
Crazy Magnet Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 If my first trip to a guy's apartment include this type of poster on the wall it would be my last trip to his apartment. It screams 16 yo boy. As a woman I have several naked pieces of art (watercolor) and they are fabulous. If you need to look at naked women, at least get some real art.
tami-chan Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Are you the one who has N-Sync posters up in the "karaoke room?" or am I thinking of someone else? You are thinking of someone else. I am a loyal "backstreet boys" fan, but I do have a karaoke room, actually it is a studio..please, get it right, I am serious about my singing.
