coloredinks Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I mean of people they've slept with? Like do you keep track of the exact number. Haha, this is just something I've always been curious about.
somedude81 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Yeah I do. I have a word document where I have the person's name, year it happened and a short note. Of course I'm hardly a normal guy. I doubt that most guys do this.
USMCHokie Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I do, but that's only because it's such a small number that it's easy to keep track of...
reservoirdog1 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I know my number, and all of their names. It's in the mid-teens so it's not a ridiculously long list. A related question: should one count in their number a girl with whom one got very drunk and only received a partial BJ from? (Partial because we both passed out without finishing.)
Green Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Of course I keep track. I mean its automatic. Not like I would forget something so intimate. Also its not like I'm keeping track of a large number.
somedude81 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 A related question: should one count in their number a girl with whom one got very drunk and only received a partial BJ from? Mad Max Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Yes I know my number. It's not long and unless it's a ridiculous number, you should know how many you've been with. I wouldn't. IMO, Oral sex doesn't count as sex. I guess anal might count, if for some reason one only had anal. Oral SEX does count. It is a sexual act and you can get STDs from it.
Author coloredinks Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 do you guys make a mental notch in your brain right after sleeping with a new woman? Like the next morning do you think, "16, check!"
SilentVoice Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I know a guy who has a ridicuosly high number . I mean like 150 ( no joke) and I know him so I know he isn't bull ****ting me . And he has a big book with each one of their names, age, date of sex and race but then again he doesn't know all of their names.
alexlakeman Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I don't keep the number in my brain.. I do keep a spreadsheet though. I list names, ages, dates...and a few rankings (1 through 5).. But only recent lays or g/f's are on there, like in the past 5 yrs or so... I wouldn't remember from before I was married ... It gets to a point that the number is insignificant.. BUT I certainly would not want a low # at my age... I think for a guy higher miles is better vs a woman where lower mileage is much better..
Star Gazer Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I do keep a spreadsheet though. I list names, ages, dates...and a few rankings (1 through 5)... Please tell me you're joking....
skydiveaddict Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I don't keep the number in my brain.. I do keep a spreadsheet though. Yea, I'm sure you do
alexlakeman Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Please tell me you're joking.... No, I am not.. what's the big deal? Women don't like it probably though... In conversation earlier this year my ex g/f found out about the spreadsheet and she said she did NOT want to be on that spreadsheet, very serious.... I just opened it up. I list the following: subjecthairmarital status (single, has bf or married, divorced, etc..) then rating on the following: facebreastsbedparty (do they like to go out drinking , dancing, having fun, happy hour, etc.)

USMCHokie Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 do you guys make a mental notch in your brain right after sleeping with a new woman? Like the next morning do you think, "16, check!" No, I don't. Any time I have to recall the number, I have to do a recount in my head.

No gentleman would ever do something like this.
carhill Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I would presume that *all* men do not know their number, assuming any significant amount of single life being sexually active. Those men who don't keep track are unlikely to be posting here on LS, as their focus and perspective on interpersonal relationships is likely different from those who post here. Also, IMO, for those who do track, a significant subset of the overall number would be the number and ratio of experiences within significant relationships/marriages. Good luck on the new path
Mad Max Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 This is honestly disturbing. No gentleman would ever do something like this. That and no gentleman would knowingly sleep with a married or otherwise taken woman.

skydiveaddict Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 no.....???? yes!!!!!!!!!! Shocking, isnt it?
SadandConfusedWA Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I think that men know if it's under 20 or so. I used to keep track of the guys I made out with but when it got to about 25, I couldn't be bothered. With sex, it's unlikely that it will ever get that high so of course I know. I also only count intercourse as sex (not oral or anything else)...

carhill Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 For my purposes of number counting, I use the classic definitions of sex that one finds on Wikipedia in the human sexuality area, specifically involving the genitals in the pursuit of sexual pleasure. Looking back upon my own number, using that criteria, there is parity between the number derived from that description and the number specifically related to intercourse. Perhaps that is because I generally pursue sexual intimacy within relationships. Regardless, those criteria remain the same. YMMV.
