alexlakeman Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 So I tried a new game plan and emailed a few profiles that had NO pics, but the description sounded interesting.. I got one response, body type:"a few extra pounds" and 5' 4"... I got three pics that she emailed me, but just facial / chest up pics, no full body shots ... We've all seen that funny pic on line where the face looks great, then they show a full body shot and she's a "whale", lol... I am wondering if I should be straight out ask her for a full body shot... It's like I am inspectioning a prospect, so sounds kind of rude.. BUT, I think fair is far, I have over 10 pics in my profile / full body shots, etc... Thoughts? Ask her for a full body pic or just meet her? what a waste of time if her "a few extra pounds" are more than 3-5 pound, lol..
that girl Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Either send her a "not interested" email or simply stop responding. No one checks a few extra pounds when they are 5 pounds over swimsuit model sizes. You have no moral high ground here. You choose to put photos up on a public site, she didn't. You contacted her anyway, you can't get all uppity now. (God your avatar is creepy)
L3stat Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 in my experience with "a few extra pounds" it always turn into overweight for some reason with me. i mean if a women had 2 options fat or " a few extra pounds" thats what they would pick. ask for a full body picture in a nice way. or if you want to be sneaky ask for her full name and just do a search on all the social networks espically the popular ones like facebook etc etc and you might get lucky and see her body. if all else fails and she doenst want to send you a body picture then move on, you dont seem like the kind of guy to date a larger women, if she is one.
SpanksTheMonkey Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 If overweight women bother you that much why even respond to a add that says "a few extra pounds"? just stick to the (thin) (athletic) ones? agreed you wrote to her she didn't contact you move on..
BobSacamento Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I've been out with "Average" women who were hippopotamus' .... ask for the full body.
SadandConfusedWA Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I have extra few pounds (really a few) and I tick "average". I browsed "extra few pounds" pictures and the women are all borderline obese or obese. Even with "average" pictures, probably a half are bigger than me.

No biggie, I decided I am not responding... she emailed her pics to my personal email, but no "biggie", lol... Yeah, you are right, MOST women are a few extra poungs but that's average.. but "few extra poungs"... .she would've definitely sent a body shot to confirm no fat issues... she sent three pics, so it's not like there would not be ONE body shot.. On to the next prospect..
SadandConfusedWA Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Can't you sort of tell by her face/chest/neck etc? Usually with larger women it's pretty obvious.
somedude81 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Can't you sort of tell by her face/chest/neck etc? Usually with larger women it's pretty obvious. I present the Myspace Angels
Author alexlakeman Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 I present the Myspace Angels LOL that's the pic I was talking about, lol.. so funny, so true!!!!!!!! LOL

Great stud like yourself should have no problem meeting thin women in real life, right?
PhillyDude Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 There is no nice way to ask someone for a full body shot picture-lol
naya1 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 im 5'3 and 125 lbs and list myself as body builder or athletic even tho im really a chunky monkey i need to lose weight to be like 115 or 100 but im not in that zone right now..im in the lazy zone.. i dont like these terms "whale"..tbh.
LoveLace Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Just say you'd like to see more pics of her if she has any, and full body shots would be nice; but it already sounds like you are not fancied by the description of herself so if you feel unattracted at this point, chances are that won't change.
PhillyDude Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Don't mention full body shots because you will sound shallow
brainygirl Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I have a picture of my dog in my okcupid profile at the moment. And still get contacted by guys. Even met up with one, who wasn't horrified at the fact that (GASP!) I wasn't tiny. Of course, I admit in my profile that I'm not tiny so maybe its just letting me weed out the shallow ones . . . .

LoveLace Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Don't mention full body shots because you will sound shallow Yeah pretty much. But if he really wants to see one that bad, why not take that risk and ask. It's likely that she's no stranger to the question. However I also think, why bother, when he already sounds not very attracted to her.
LoveLace Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 whats with the dog picture? anytime i see that or a picture of their kid i automatically delete (i never contact them, if they happen to contact me)..its a dating site, they are there to see YOU I can't stand the ones who post a slide show of all the scenery from their vacations, and there's maybe one pic of them that's far away with a jacket and sunglasses on. Come on, people, we don't want to see the mountains, we want to see YOU. Then there's the ones with so many group pics that you can't even tell for sure which one is the profile's owner. Ugh! Frustrating.
brainygirl Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 nope, just one pic, of my dog. Why? because I can't seem to manage a flattering full body, non trashy looking, photo that I feel like actually looks like me. So rather than put a bunch of self shots that all look the same, pics taken on vacation by my dad that look three times larger than I am, or any number of options I didn't like, I put up one shot of my dog, along with a humourus profile. It seems to be working for the moment.
D-Lish Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Just ask her outright for a body pic. I wouldn't be offended if someone asked me for one, I don't know why anyone without anything to hide would be offended by the question.
Author alexlakeman Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 Just ask her outright for a body pic. I wouldn't be offended if someone asked me for one, I don't know why anyone without anything to hide would be offended by the question. Nahh, not a big deal... I already deleted the email... when in doubt, bail. I used your avatar pic as a reference point ... looking from the neck up it looks pretty hot.. on her pic, the "face only pics" or "neck up" pics where pretty, but, not 100%... no biggie.. Hey it was only a test on contacting the matches with NO pictures; figured they would get less hits and I would see what I would come up with... My results out of 5-6 emails sent to profiles with no pics. 1. This one - as explained above. 2. Another with 2-3 email exchanges but no pic, and emails were short and sporadic, so no good. 3. One more who said athletic and I already forgot what we emailed about, but I deleted her, I didn't get a pic... lol... LOL...
Lemontang Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Tree loggers count the rings, playa's count the chins. Surely you know that one. I would have asked her for 'activity' shots, like if she liked dancing or bike riding etc... This isn't as intrusive and you'll come off as more proactive in having a genuine interest in her, whilst in turn show a bit more 'of' her as well.
that girl Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I would have asked her for 'activity' shots, like if she liked dancing or bike riding etc... Who even has activity shots? I do yoga and spin, but I'm not getting my photo taken there. This isn't as intrusive and you'll come off as more proactive in having a genuine interest in her, whilst in turn show a bit more 'of' her as well. It is really transparent.
LoveLace Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Who even has activity shots? I do yoga and spin, but I'm not getting my photo taken there. It is really transparent. Yes it is, might as well just ask for a body shot then. But I have seen a lot of activity shots in men's profiles...but I think the purpose of that is to show what kinds of things they like to do, more than it is for a full body shot. Just ask her and her reaction should at least tell you if she's insecure or not...the more offended she is by it, the more likely she isn't comfortable with her body and a guy doesn't want that in a girl anyway.
