Star Gazer Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I only walked out on one date, literally in the middle of my meal, when I learned he was 7 or 8 years older than his posted age. He full on lied, and I lost my appetite. Actually, I wouldn't say that I walked out, as much as I put my fork down and said, "Um, this date is over. I'm ready to leave." He got the check and walked me out, and I never heard from him again.
O'Malley Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I wouldn't have handled it the way he did; more likely I would have said we're not compatible/contacted him over the phone to cancel /something vague and generally polite. However, she lied by omission and should have been realistic about the possible reactions to that. Another time it was because the guy was extremely rude to the waitresses. The same happened to me...my date was extremely boorish and condescending to the waiter, besides being foul mouthed, and I frankly did not want any further interaction with someone who might get hostile when I turned down his athletic, fiscally successful self for another date. This was a blind date, not from online.
2sure Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 HEY!!!! Is there any such thing as a dating site that has client reviews like a recipe site does???
phineas Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 HEY!!!! Is there any such thing as a dating site that has client reviews like a recipe site does??? Hmmm a bunch of rejected bitter singles lieing about themselves rateing each other. Sign me up for that online community!!!
alexlakeman Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 "You lied , good bye". Oh wow, that's funny. I could've used that last week, 10 minutes into the dat "dis isn't going any where, gd bye". Lol I've never done that, BUT that would be THE perfect reaction in a case they put pics in which they look different. I typically will ask if they are current pics and let them know that mines are current. Some women slip up and post pics with a date stamp from 1-2 + years ago, red flag. What I do typically on a first date with someone I've met from online , I'll say I'm wearing a different color shirt and just stand on the side and wait to see them b4 they see me and then I can just walk away if I don't like the package.
2sure Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 HEY!!!! Is there any such thing as a dating site that has client reviews like a recipe site does??? Well really - I think if people who actually went on a date with someone could leave say...a rating regarding The pleasantness of the Date itself 1 to 5 stars Was the picture recent/accurate? 1 to 5 stars Manners? Just general things like that. Not comments like: He took 2 VERY IMPORTANT CALLS during dinner, in front of me..but I strongly suspect no one was on the other line.

Nice plan except what do you do if you actually like the package? If she's smart enough to figure out why you lied you come off as an instant a$$.
