guys, how important is a girls length of hair to you?

i have been talking to a guy online for a few days. during one of our chats, he briefly mentions he likes longer hair on a girl. this is before i showed him a picture of myself. my hair is not exactly long, but not extremely short. so now i'm thinking he will hesitate to meet me/date me because of my hair. is hair really that important to guys? i know it shouldn't matter too much, but every guy has preferences.

 

guys on here, tell me what you think. what length of hair do you like best? how important is it to you? would you not date a girl over her hair?

I personally like long hair because it's feminine and fun to play with :p Short hair tends to look "cuter" on some girls, but I think longer hair is "sexier."

You should tell THIS guy how long your hair is.

 

As you said EACH guy has his own preferences and to some it is a big deal and others not so much at all.

 

This guy will have his own opinion of how important it is to him. So tell him and ask him.

Some girls like OMG hot with short hair or bobs.

 

Depends onn the face if a girl can pull it off.

 

 

The better looking the girl, the easierd it is to pull

 

When a girl is really pretty, they look awesome with the hair up or pulled back.

But his preference is long hair as he has told me already. i know what you mean. some girls can pull it off, and look fine. now that i think of it, in the past there have been more than one guy tell me they like long hair. this is when i actually had very long hair. for a while ive worn it shorter

Long enough to do fun things with but not so long that it is a burden to maintain. I think it's cool that women can use hair as an accessory (my stbx is a stylist) so I enjoy when a woman can create unique and different looks just by changing her hair.

Not a deal maker or breaker by any stretch. As long as it's healthy and she's not psycho over it, I'm good.

 

would you not date a girl over her hair?

 

Based on historical dating data, no. I find no discernible pattern wrt hair.

If you ask most any guy they are going to say long hair.

 

But we doint have much imaginiation when it comes to style.

 

Id say the same, but then you see someone with short hair and think thats hot.

 

Anyway hair isnt that big a deal to guys

my hair above shoulders so i don't consider that long really. most guys probably would say long hair is best. the thing is, it can be a hassle for the girl, so why have it all long just to suit a guy or so he can play with ect.

Well I used to have very long hair and just recently cut it off, I never noticed any changes in interest levels.

 

If he doesn't like you because your hair isn't long enough, I would be worried about his personality.

 

I doubt he really cares that much!

I'd just send him a more recent pic and tell him this is what your hair looks like now.

 

I don't think most guys would care too much about the length of your hair- they'll be considering the whole package.

I guess some guys can have preferences but to me one set hairstyle doesn't matter it depends on how it looks on the girl. I'm not a fan of the shaved head look but Demi Moore can pull it off and look good.

I think most guys are fine with any length of hair as long as they can run their hands through it.

 

Send him a pic and you'll know soon enough how important it is to him.

I feel like i'm trying to talk to him more before i show him a picture. that is dumb i guess. its like i'm trying to get him to know me better, so he won't judge my looks as much. if i don't show him pic soon he will start to wonder what is up.

 

ok so here is how the discussion came up. we were just talking about ourselves, and preferences or what you look for in opposite sex. when he told me what he looks for in girl, he also was like "oh, and i don't mind some long hair on a girl either..haha". i was like well my hair is not very long nor very short. i sort of laughed it off, and let it go. now i'm starting to think about it more. i have to show him a pic too. never know he might hate it, and not want to talk anymore. i like him so far that would suck.

Most guys don't care. Personally though, I don't like short hair. Pixie cuts freak me out, but shoulder length is just fine.

My general argument: Anyone who looks good with short hair looks even better with long hair. Just my opinion, though. I wouldn't reject anyone because of their hair, though, of course.

Stop overthinking it and show him a pic. Personally I don't like really short hair, other then that it just depends on the girl, different styles suit different people.
