No matter how standard a size you are, EVERY wedding dress needs to be alterred. This ensures a perfect fit. Make certain they leave a little room for when you sit down, or you're going to have a dress with a crease across the middle, by the time it comes to taking pictures. It will definately need altered especially in the bust area.I wasn't interested in hiding behind a new username. Just wanted a more positive one. My location tells you who I was. When it comes time to alter the bust area, make sure you bring the bra you're going to wear on your wedding day. This way, it will be alterred perfectly.

You could have said you didn't like the dresses, everyone else did!! And thankfully I kept looking and found an awesome dress! I went through and looked at myself in all the other dresses I posted and can't believe the difference. It's just weird because I NEVER imagined this would be my wedding dress! Ever!!! But it's awesome and it had everyone in the store sniffling!!!

So when you put on a dress now, you still compare yourself to that image and anything that looks even remotely "not fat", you are happy with. You probably didn't even even think it was possible to look this sexy!

Lucky_One Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 WAY better with the straps! I am glad you went with something non-strapless. When shorter women wear strapless, it tends to stop the eye and so you get a look that is "dumpier" rather than sleek and long. It looks gorgeous!

I actually wanted something with straps but my mom convinced me that I was hiding my "assetts." (shoulders, arms) Whats nice about this dress is that the straps are see through and lace so that you can still see my shoulders. Plus my fiance doesn't like strapless dresses as much as he tried to disguise it. He told me once that he thought strapless dresses made girls look like they were wearing a towel. He saw my expression and he quickly tried to cover it up, but I still think he feels that way.

Picture Cinderella's castle. Needless to say, it's very formal so I need a formal dress. I love how you said * Our wedding * instead of * My Wedding *. It shows this is a true partnership for life. !

I will have more of it pulled back though and I want it curly.

Drag the two sides partially up, leaving the bulk of your hair draping over one shoulder. Curl the bulk of your hair, to add volume. I'm dying of curiosity, what this might look like. Too bad I can't do your hair, just to see what it looks like!

Yeah, I have an exact picture of it from my junior prom. It's weird, I don't look that much different from when I was 17. Just older. So my mom is going to take me to the store tommorrow to buy the dress. I'm taking the plunge!!!! I hope it's the right dress!!!

She is obsessed with me having a ballgrown/pick up dress even though she said it's "up to me." She doesn't really mean it though, she wants me to wear what SHE likes. Ugh, I feel like total crap now. :(:(

Get the dress. It's not her wedding, it's yours. Did she always want a princess wedding and never got it herself?

Did she always want a princess wedding and never got it herself? My parents got married by the justice of the peace on NYE. They had a catholic wedding ceremony later on but I have no idea what she wore. I don't know what her obsession is. She says it looks cheap by the photographs. I don't get that, I don't think it looks cheap at all. Ballgowns look more cheap IMO. I'm so upset, I don't even know what to do now.

It's not like the dress is an off-the-cuff decision. Thank your mom for her opinion and go on.
