Let's just admit that all of us wimmins want to do men dirt. We hate them all and look forward to walking away from marriages, ensuring we have full control over the raising of our children. Then we mentally twist these juvenile minds to be feminists, gays and lesbians.

Oops, sorry Woggle...

Woggle, I don't want to take this too off topic but I'm very curious about something. I just went to the NOW website to see what you were talking about. Could you point out what you found on that site that was insulting and anti-men? Most things on that site appear to be anti-media, like some comment that Letterman made about Sarah Palin and people objecting some Burger King commercial.

Trend, shmend. The divorce rate is what...50%? That means that the other half are fine, dear.:)

The other half is miserable and the woman hate shis guts because she feels like she settled.

You blame modern women for the way I look at marriage. Just look at the stories from men on these boards who thought they had happy marriages and all of a sudden their wife drops the bomb on them. Half of all marriages end in divorce and women initiate 75% of these splits. There are some walkaway husbands but overwhelming it is women who turn and it usually not even for reasons like abuse and infidelity. Any man who doesn't view marriage like I do is a fool in my book. You don't take a gamble like this without some sort of plan B.

I'm not blaming anybody for anything, Woggle - you're doing enough of that for the both of us. Where do you get your statistics? Look at the stories from women on these boards whose husbands have been the ones to stray/walk away. I was a BS myself & you don't find me bitter toward all men because of what my exH did to me...I think you'd see that there are a lot of others in my shoes too (men and women), but you're so caught up in your bitterness that you can't see that far.

Look at some of their older stuff and how they fight father's rights groups every inch of the way. It's not explicitly anti-male but what other reason would they have for being so opposed to father's rights?

You are one scary dude, Woggle - I'm just grateful there are thousands of miles between us!:o

Oh totally. I'm currently settling for a man who's got everything I've always wanted in a man and more! Of course I still hate him and will be divorcing him after we get married, just so I can walk away.

I'm an LS feminist and openly admit it!!!

I knew you were going to say that...knew it.

Well I'm the "other half" and I don't feel that way. I have a GEM of a husband. I do. I wish I was as good as he is. I love him with all my being. I'd give my life for him. You might be a good man but even you don't compare to what I have. He's a prince among men.

Your attitude is sad and helps no one. How about being the solution to the problem instead of contributing to the problems within the sexes?

Should the existence of these site be the impetus for me to start acting like the misandrists you see everywhere when you step outside of your home?

I mean, you cite the NOW page as part of why you know YOUR views are justified. Should the existence of these blogs justify the views of misandrists?

Maybe each exists BECAUSE of the other and you are just buying into it because you've never worked out the damage you experienced in your past.

I mean cults and gangs target weak, lost people looking for direction.....

You seem like a perfect candidate.

Does anybody else think Woggle may be related in some way to Ariadne?:p

Because their power base is invested in the current legal status.

Ok, so we have 50% who end up walking & 50% who are miserable...where does that leave me? I'm happily married to a wonderful man who happens to be my partner/equal in every way...the math just doesn't add up.:o

ooooooh now, I'm not sure if that's below the belt or not, but he is probably going to get mad about that one! :lmao:

I don't see that on the site, most of the issues I see are pro-choice/reproductive health and lesbian-rights. Either way, point taken, thanks for answering my question.

The site was actually different than I thought.

Oh golly, I guess I can handle that. I'm just tired of the drivel coming out on these boards...I mean, really, somebody comes on here asking for advice, and THIS is what she ends up with?? Lord help her!

Absolutely not. You seem to be genuinely new around here and I have agreed with 99% of the posts I've seen of yours (unusual for me) but no....they're birds of a different feather (flock?)....or whatever that expression is.

The math will never add up with Woggle and many others on here. Get used to it.

I didn't think they're really related - just seems like outdated, antiquated viewpoints abounded between the 2 of them. Yes, I've only been around here for a month or so, and it's been a real eye-opener for me.

I've tried (honestly, I have) to see things from many differing viewpoints (differing from my own) and for the most part, can do so. However, this whole Woggle thing has me baffled. I just plain don't understand why there are people out there who refuse to believe that people CAN be happily married!? :o

Of course I didn't thin you thought they were REALLY related silly. Maybe you think they're two sides of the same coin though. And that's where I would disagree.

I know what you're saying. Sometimes we just have to accept a person's view point without judging them too harshly. If you are aware of someone's background it really does make a difference. I mean we're all shaped, to a certain degree, by our upbringing. It's just that some of us are more (or less) screwed up by that upbringing.

Maybe 40% is better. 5% are the couples where the man genuinly does mistreat the woman and she has good reason to resent him and the other 5% are the happy couples like Touche and yourself. A 5% chance of turning out well out of 95% is not good odds.

I am in no way related to her and if you ask me she is just as bad as the feminists she derides. She wants a provider not because she loves a man but because she she feels that is a man's job. It is no better than women who believe that men are useless breeding stock because women now make their own money. They are both misandrist viewpoints.

You're probably right that 5% chance of turning out well isn't good odds, but I'll tell you what - I'm sure glad I took that gamble. It's WELL worth bucking the odds when you have a happy marriage. ;)

Winning millions in Vegas is great too but you don't blow all your money trying to do it. Why should that logic not apply to marriage? Why is it wrong for a man to at least have a backup plan in case?
