Not sure when we'll be together next but, what I am sure of is that this is our last year apart... if we can survive this engagement!

Feels like I haven't been on here in a while lol. Not much update...we've planned my move for May. If my b/f still has not found a job in my state I'm uprooting in a few months to be with him. We are both excited about moving forward. I'm still nervous about leaving family and friends behind.

Aw....well done for hanging in there, I know how tough you find long separations. Five weeks should fly by, as you're past the half way mark - and two weeks is a good long chunk to look forward to.

Kiwi man left yesterday, after another month together. Almost six months together this past year so we can't complain.

He'll definitely be back at the beginning of July, but that will be five months, so he's hoping to fit in another short trip in late April.

So maybe 10 weeks ish or maybe 20 ish. Too long in either case! :(

Thank you LT, not been easy since he left, he's been closed off again, and I had no idea why, and because of our communication problems felt I couldn't ask, and consequently assumed he was going off me, I nearly ended it, but turns out he is depressed.

So yes, finally learning to talk when there are problems :o Just not easy with a clam.

Hang in there, LT.

I know it's not easy. :/

But these long stretches together must be wonderful.

Congrats on being able to make them happen.

In 8 days, I'll leave to England for 3 months.

I'm over the moon!

Thanks Cerridwen. The long stretches together are wonderful. Our longest was over three months - you will love it!

It's tough being separated again after so much time together, but I'm used to it now really and our relationship is great so I count myself luckier than most.

Eight days? Seven now - you must be really excited! Whereabouts in England will you be?

We set a date yesterday. Will be seeing him in late March for a week then I will move with him in May. When he's here for a week he will be going on job interviews since I requested he makes one more last effort to find a job in my state. If he finds nothing good I will be moving with him in May. I will be content knowing he tried all he could. And I'm excited about moving to a new city (well not so new since I was there for 3 months with him during the summer).

Hope everyone is well :)

Supposed to be going in 4 weeks but as things stand at the moment I won't be able to because of the flooding in the UK, I will be gutted, it's already the longest we'll have been apart. And he'l probably still have to take those days off work as he's already asked, so they'll be wasted.

Valentines day, so five more days!

However I always find that no matter how short the wait, it always seems too long.

ME TOO!!!! I better show up this time. Last year, after asking her out for a Valentine's "get together", I promptly cancelled on her. She was not pleased. I've got some making-up to do...:) We laugh about that and it was a lot more complicated than I make it sound. :)

Hey all, I've been away for the last year and a half or so, been a loong time. :) Just wanted to stop by and have a look around.

Update: as of late June of last year, we've tied the knot and have started our new lives together. We moved to a whole new country, new jobs, and for me--a brand new career. Happy to report that there will never be a need for counting down the days of separation.

Happy belated Valentine's Day, everyone.:love::love:

Been a long month without him. Only for a couple of days though, and then I'll have to go 2 1/2 months without him... :(

On the plus side, we are making tentative plans to close the distance around this time next year!! So incredibly exciting. :bunny:

Mine is about 36 days, BUT that's if she passes the TOEFL test and is accepted to the university in my city. I met her last year when she went on exchange to my university. She's from Russia. :) Everyone please hope and pray she passes this test and finally moves to my country! :D
