Guest Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I'm not trying to be gross but I nocied on an occassion, not all the time, but sometimes when hubbys comes home, when he gets ready to get in the shower, I'll hug and kiss him and then notice this fishy like smell that is coming from his penis. I have actually sniffed it before, sorry not trying to be funny. I have asked him why does it smell like that, he says sweating. Now he work outside so thats possible. However i would think to produce a smell such as that it would have to be alot of sweating. It reminds me of a sex fishy smell. If you want to call it that. I myself have smelled that way before even when I haven't had sex. I understand people's ph balance can be off sometimes. Its probably best to get checked too, and like I said its not an all the time thing, but if its not sweat what is it? I can smell like fish down there at times even from not sweating or having sex. I think we all can, so can guys smel that way too? And no its not like we had sex the night before and he smelled that way the next day. He gets in the shower at night, goes to work the next day then comes home and his penis smells that way. Not all the time.
JadeStar Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I would think that since he works outside and sweats alot like you say then that might be the cause. You even stated you hasve smelled that way when you have not had sex, do you think thats whats going on? Men and women both can have that fishy smell once in awhile, without coming from having sex. If he is smelling like this alot, he might want to see a doctor about it, might be something wrong. Jade
blind_otter Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 If he has a foreskin I would say this could be a smell coming from him. The fishy odor is due to bacterial infection, not a pH balance issue. In women this bacterial infection is called bacterial vaginosis. If he doesn't have a foreskin, he's been chasing some strange. IMO.

I'm not sure what you mean by foreskin. I know what it is but are you meaning if he has a foreskin from not being cirumsized? If thats what you are meaning, he is circumsized. However, he is rather large there, and sometimes it does look like he wasn't circumsized depending on how it hangs when soft, lol, sorry. Of course when he is erect its not like that. He could have a bacterial infection from foreskin? Why? I also thought bacterial vaginosis was a type of STD. Or can be?

Its a bacterial infection men can get from the foreskin hanging over the top of their penis. If that area is not cleaned properly or throughly it can result in infection. Men who are not cut usually need to clean themselves better under there. Or they can run a risk of infection. However, you stated he was cut but it still hangs over the top of his penis some. Maybe he wasn't circumsized properly or enough to reduce risk of infection? Sometimes sweat and urine smell to can create a fishy smell as well.
stoopid_guy Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Have you asked what he's been eating? Maybe he has fish for lunch, hits the restroom after, pulls it out to take a leak with fishy hands...
alphamale Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 the groin area and arm pits are excellent areas for the growth of bacteria which cause funky odors. this seems to be normal to me especially if he's been sweating a lot. I have smelled some girls genital regions that reeked worse than a tuna cannery.

I have smelled some girls genital regions that reeked worse than a tuna cannery. It probably is from sweating alot. I think the thing that made me question it was the fact that the smell remeinded me so much of how it smells after we have had sex. Its kind of fishy but its like a fishy sex smell, if that makes since. LOL. I have smelled it before after we had sex, but this last time I smelled it, we had not had sex prior to that. He had a shower, we went to bed, he got up in the morning went to work came home, got ready to get in the shower and thats when I noticed the smell. No its not all the time either. Thanks again for the replies.
Rooster_DAR Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 girls genital regions that reeked worse than a tuna cannery LOL....too funny.

Or tell them the fish market was turning you stomach?
stoopid_guy Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I have smelled some girls genital regions that reeked worse than a tuna cannery. I'd say you're meeting the wrong kind of women.
alphamale Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 And when you realized it smelled like tuna did you proceed anyway? Or tell them the fish market was turning you stomach? No, if the odor is too bad I retreat....I may throw up if I don't. I'd say you're meeting the wrong kind of women. You obviously have had little xperience with women. Some don't stink at all, some have a little fishy odor and some reek to all high-heaven. Vaginal stink crosses all socio-economic boundaries and is totally random. You never know which chicka will have it real bad.
Rooster_DAR Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 At yeast I have a better understanding now.

Other than a yeast infection, I've never smelled one I'd consider unpleasant.
alphamale Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Other than a yeast infection, I've never smelled one I'd consider unpleasant. I have! Phew! *alpha holds nostrils together*
IpAncA Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 IMO no one should be stinking unless something is wrong. Good grief tell him or her to take a shower or something. I can understand the after sex smell but good God not before.

I can understand the after sex smell but good God not before. no you don't understand IPANCA....some people have a natural strong scent down there no matter what they do. You know how some people have body odor or bad breath no matter what? Its the same thing but localized in the genital region

You know how some people have body odor or bad breath no matter what? Its the same thing but localized in the genital region It makes you wonder if they're caused by the same thing. Bad breath and stinky hoo-hoo, that is. It would explain why I never encountered a stinky hoo-hoo. If I can't get past breath, not going any further. The smell does change day-to-day. I've always figured it was related to diet though. It also get's stronger as the day goes along. If she showers in the morning, by night-time it's back and much "harder" to resist. One lady thought it was strange that I didn't want her to shower immediately before we... :bunny:

2sunny Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 don't most women douche once a week or at least often enough to not have to wonder if there sn@tch is smelly? i thought all women douched??????

My mom is a nurse practitioner and she, and 2 different OBGYNs I've seen, and my boyfriend's mother who is a midwife, all say that douching is bad for the vagina.
PandorasBox Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 don't most women douche once a week or at least often enough to not have to wonder if there sn@tch is smelly? i thought all women douched?????? douching is one of the worse things you can do. There is no point at all in douching. Creates more bad bacteria and whatever bacteria you already have can be pushed further up in ther creating more problems rather than helping it to get out.
