Krisnakay Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 AMEN!(taking deep breath) I met Dan at an online dating site.I've been single for 5 years and am looking for long term.His profile said he wanted long term also.So we meet...I was attracted to him and I think he was attracted to me also.So on the first date he sez...He wants to leave the singles site and date eachother only.Yeah..I think great cuz..it's just easier to date one person.So...we see eachother every other day pretty much for 3 weeks..and then we are together one night and I get a feeling..intuition I guess.I check the singles site I met him on and his profile is back up,Still looking for long term.So I ask what the hell did he do that for when it was his idea to only date eachother.He sez..he doesn't know what he wants....and that he wants to be friends.I say no way...See ya...don't email,call or make any contact with me at all.So....2 weeks go by and he sends me an email...I give in and we talk....Go out that night and..you know the rest:(So..again we are together every other night..He's introducing me to his mother and kids and family and friends.So..I'm confused about what he really wants..He sez that he hasn't dated many women in the 2 years that he has been single. He has female friends that he sez are only friends and I have male friends that I would never ever consider dating.One woman that I know i know of that he had dated..He said that it was 3 months that they had dated before he knew he wanted a long term relationship with her..and that's when she dumped him.He's still on the singles site and I am too.I went out with someone else this last weekend.I told him that if he wanted to date other people I didnt like it but he should understand that I will also date other men.He sent me an email today saying he had very strong feelings for me and that it bothers him when he knows that I am going out without him.But at the same time he has only asked me to do things with him on the weekends a couple of times.He even asked me to pick his son up from the sitters for him..can someone tell me what the hell this man wants???

You made a few mistakes here : 1. agreeing after one date to only see eachother 2. seeing him everyday 3. not keeping your options open by dating openly and letting him know you are dating openly until you find someone ( after spending quality time ) that is worth committing ... He is back online because you don't cut the mustard for him in some way. He is searching again...He is bothered by you seeing other men for fear you will sleep with one of them ( men are territorial ) or become seriously involved with another ~even if you are not his territory anymore.

I feel like he lead you to believe one thing and then did another thing by going back and telling you he just wants to be friends then two weeks later (I'm assuming he couldn't find anybody else) he contacts you again! I know what you mean by giving in but, you have to go with your gutt. I know it's fresh and there are a lot of things being tested. Your pretty much answering your own questions. You know your wasting your time so, just tell him to not waste his and to put his profile back up!!!
