How did you handle photos of your ex when you needed some distance but weren’t ready to delete them?

I recently went through a breakup, and my ex is in a lot of the photos on my phone.

Right now, I need some distance, but I don’t want to permanently delete those memories. I’d just like to browse my photos without unexpectedly seeing her all the time.

For those who’ve been through this, how did you handle it? What worked for you, and was sorting through the photos itself difficult?

Can't you transfer the photos to a folder on your computer?

I periodically do that with the pictures on my phone.

yes but the challenge is to sort, and also to relay on the built in features of the iphone ( or android ) , so it catchs also group photo ( or couple photos ) then I removing some extra content.
since the time I posted my question, I found an app for iPhone helping a lot for sorting pictures ( with a swipe feature like in tinder ) 
it's named ex-filter for iphone and it's free.
