I am mostly writing this to help myself and to try to see the situation objectively, but i really would appreciate your guys opinion. I dated a girl for about 2 years, we broke up, 2 years go by, and now she called me and wants to work something out. I really messed up our relationship when we were together, and its important to me that I recognize that. I struggled with jealousy and got angry my gf all the time and constantly blamed her and accused her of things/cheating. I can look back now with confidence and say that she was loyal and that I was messed up. However I was very confused and depressed at the time and it took me a year to start seeing things straight. I've really tried to accept the guilt and promised to myself that I wont let it happen again. But then my ex gf texts me out of the blue 2 years after we broke up, and says she wants to talk one last time. I agree, as I feel like this is my chance to show her that im ok and to get closure. Now, the problem is is that she really loved me during the relationship. I struggled with believing and trusting that. She hung onto me for months, way longer than I deserved, and she seemed pretty done if not sad with me when she ended it. We both are in agreement that before all my jealousy started that the relationship was perfect. We both were happy in a way that we aren't sure we will ever find again. We also just have really good chemistry, like the way we talk and understand each other are like two best friends. Which is also why I feel so bad for ruining it because I knew she was happy.

All she talked about was how she missed me for 2 years, and how she did her own reflections. She wanted to show me that she had been loyal and that she really didnt do anything. She cried almost the whole phone call and struggled to say goodbye to me. We called for 7 hours. I told her she could take as much time as she could and we agreed to call the next week. We also live in different countries now, which complicates things tenfold. Next week, she says she sorry, not ready to stop talking to me, and wonders what we should do next. She is says she didn't see anyone for a year, slept with some guy a year and half later, but she now is open to try dating me again. I still would like to ask her about who else or about the guy she's seen in between because that really affects my decision, but im struggling because I dont want to sound jealous and make her answer questions about the guys she's seeing, like I was doing in the relationship. This one problem makes me believe that I should let her go, acknowledge I ruined something good, and just leave it at that. She says she still has feelings, and I feel like at 25, she's the type of person that could be the one. Im not a romantic person at all, but we both match each other great, and its hard to let go of that one person who could be the one.

The only way for us to be together is if I move to her, as she is very independent and travels to world working different places. It was my dream to do that to, but since ive settled down in my hometown, I wonder if its just a crazy thought or if its something real I could go for. We both have acknowledged we need to really talk more and get to know each other again, before anything is possible, but i feel like something isnt right. Like idk if im being selfish and thinking she's more into that she really is, or maybe she really is still into me. The most realistic reason that lowkey kinda sucks is that she cant let go of me, and so she thinks getting with me is the way to go when maybe I need to let her go so she can live her life. Im not sure what to do and would like to make the best decision for her, and not just strictly go for what I want.

you have no right to ask about what she has done since you broke up, her life is not your business.  she could have slept with a dozen guys, and decided that's not what she wanted, and wants to try again with you.
