deanerenata32 Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I am a 38-year old woman who has been seeing a man for 3-4 months now. He met me and started a full blown romance with me. We even had sex together, it was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. Well, the problem is is that he never talks to me. I have been sending him texts a lot but he has not texted me back even once. He told me he would never hurt me, but his lack of communication with me has indeed hurt my feelings and has made me cry. I have no idea what is going on with him. His lack of talking to me means I can't just ask him myself. I was actually getting serious about him and was seeing him as a potential marriage partner. But now I don't know what to think. I hate to think that he just used me for his own enjoyment without committing to the relationship like I have, it sickens me and makes me upset. Men shouldn't use women; its not nice. We are not your playthings. We are real people with real needs and feelings. We have self respect.

You should definitely ask him what’s going on, you need to know where you stand. 5 hours ago, deanerenata32 said: I hate to think that he just used me for his own enjoyment without committing to the relationship like I have Wait a second, did you tell him clearly that you considered that a committed relationship? Because if you didn’t, then he did nothing wrong. It’s completely okay to have sex without commitment as long as there is no deceit. 1

You, yourself said the sex was great and probably the best thing that has happened to you. You were not being used, if anything you used each other. Did you clarify with him that you two are in a one-on-one relationship and what you expect from him before you had sex? If not, he probably had a good time and thinks you did too.

I don't see how he used you. I get that it hurts to feel rejected but you should also own your part in engaging with him sexually if you two were not dating. It's not clear if you were in an actual relationship or not. When was the last time you saw or spoke to him?
sammy09 Posted August 14 Posted August 14 I think you misunderstood his intent and made a conclusion quickly. I DO think he used you for sex if he suddenly stopped speaking to you and didn't make himself clear.
flitzanu Posted August 14 Posted August 14 how have you been dating for 4 months and having sex if he doesn't talk to you?
Cavaradossi Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Many people, both men and women want to enjoy a sexual romance without committing to a permanent relationship or partnership. Maybe your desire to make your affair a more permanent thing just isn't shared. He may feel that you want more than he can give you in that respect. Here is another aspect - Does he have a wife somewhere that you don't know about?
