I was originally going to use words like upgrade, retrofit, retool...but I figure people would think I'm weird if I used such words...like I'm treating children like little robots to be employed in my greater scheme for world domination.

So groom made me think of puppies and kittens.  I thought humans would be more receptive the word groom because humans like watching videos of puppies and kittens.

Yes, all of those are bad too. ;)

With all due respect, if English is your first language (so it's not just a non-native language issue), I think you really, really need to seek professional assistance if you don't see the issue with some of the things you are saying. I don't mean this in an offensive way, it's just that some of the things you've said are so beyond the pale that there's probably a larger issue that requires professional diagnosis and management.
