wanting a girl [merged thread]

hi everyone

was wondering how you could make more friends and how you could get a girlfriend.

wanting to hang around with a girl but dont have own space yet plus work different and long hours and most events happen on weekends.

many of you may know that it is more ideal to have your own space however you can make it work otherwise but as for space might be 60 before being able to afford it as not willing to do anything until being able to afford to buy and might be 60 because of low income.

on a cousins wedding a very long time back had photo taken a while back with a girl cousin and on year 12 formal 18 years ago took another cousin and just miss those days.

dont have a girl yet and some friends that would be able to dress up a little and go out with on dates and its taking so long and some days am feeling like it may take a long time if it ever happens.

what would be a solution to find a girl while working in a industry that works different hours to everyone else until am able to get out and get into a industry with better hours and that you are able to plan ahead and know when you work and not possibly be called in on days off.

can understand why so many gave notice in the food and retail industry in last few years after not being back for long after shutdown and would have done same if it wasnt for everyone.

how would you ask someone you know or knew from school or a friend to go out with you.

sometimes am feeling like that have got no one.

with meetups is it possible to set your own up on that site or would you have to travel to the nearest city or larger town.

how do you find a girl when working in hospitality which leaving isnt yet a option where you can do a industry thats closer to office hours which doesnt work public holidays or every weekend

if anyone can help with some answers itd be much appreciated

thanks

It depends. How old are you? Do you work full time? What type of schedule is it in terms of days/hours?   Do you have a vehicle or nearby transportation? How far away are you from work and larger towns?  What is your living situation? Parents? Roommates? Do you have enough money to date as far as transportation and being able to get a cup of coffee or afford to go places?

You could try getting a good profile and pics on quality dating apps and start talking to and meeting women. Make sure your age, distance and other screening criteria are reasonable.

Also try to stabilize the basics in your life as far as work, schedules, living arrangements and finances.

Blind-Sided

How close are you to those cousins?  And... are they close in age?

Some of my fondest memories come from girls that my female cousins set me up with.  When I first moved to where I am now... the only people I knew were my cousins. So... I hung out with one of them, and I wound up being welcomed into a group of girls who were all close to my age, and all thought I was cute. SO.... I fooled around with several of them. LOL

Even if you work strange hours.... you can still find time if you really want to. OR... start looking for another job where you can work a more "Normal" shift.

Hi

the cousin that took to year 12 formal in 2005 is about 6 weeks difference in age and the rest from that family are similar age.

how do you get that chance and experience and regular until you can work a more normal shift.

place of work is for sale and don’t plan to stay when it sells anyway or possibly sooner depending on how long it takes as won’t make 20 years anyway as wanting to do other things for work.

have started planning now and doing as much as possible no matter how small as do know it may take a while to put plans in place and then will likely be in a better position

Ask them if they would like to go out with you. You’ll have to be on friendly terms first and know that person. Read social cues. If someone feels uncomfortable or doesn’t want to be around you or makes excuses to leave the same area, don’t make things worse or harass anyone by continuing to pursue that person.

How old are you? Assuming this post is genuine and not trolling - Are you underaged or mid teens? Your questions give the sense that you’re very very young so trying to be understanding of that if that’s the case. Are you female, looking for same sex dating? Looking at your feminine handle “Daisy”.

If feasible for you, you could try reading the chapters in the book "A Billion Wicked Thoughts" that look into female attraction (it's a long book, so you might to focus on those chapters). Women are more complicated than men when it comes to attraction and the seeming inconsistencies and contradictions can indeed be quite confusing for men. (And of course men, generally, have plenty of inconsistencies and contradictions of their own.)

If you read those chapters a few times, you might (hopefully) wind up with a good mental model of how women tend to operate. This can be IMO immensely helpful and might help you to not only learn how to attract women but also recognize when things aren't working and so avoid wasting time chasing after someone who's not that interested.

am 36 and male (user name is just a name if you see what it means)

as for the girl could you ask a friend or someone you know or a friend of a friend or a friend of someone you know and how would you ask them, dont want to sound desperate but it probably sounds like that to you.

for the going out bit could you ask your sister or cousin thats close to your age or 17/18 and over.

how do you find a massage place with girls in same town you live in or close to it as the the one that am usually going to doesnt have appointments avaliable for next week or so and the only other one that am able to think of does have a girl however dont want to book stuff on that date (next tuesday 25/7) as have jobs to do on that date and no idea how long they will take so need to keep that afternoon free incase they take a little longer than expected.

how do you find a girl and ask for massages without travelling 2 hours to nearest city (occasionally or if you were going anyway would be ok) as dont have a girlfriend yet and want to know how to ask girl without having to find a girlfriend yet or having to rush into it before it happens which will allow you to take your time and keep your eyes open for one that wants same as you and atleast having something for now.

could you ask a friend or someone you know of a friend of someone you know or of a friend, and if its ok how do you go about it and what do you do if you dont have own place. where would you go where you could setup something.

some days just feeling a little desperate.

as for the job what do people generally experience to know its time to move on and how do they hang on a little longer if they just want to get out but are trying to hang on a bit longer.

work in hospitality as you may know and place is for sale which is disappointing but its time and just trying to hang on a couple more years or until it sells whichever is first, and wondering wether it will sell in next couple years hopefully sooner or wether you might have to make the decision yourself to just get out or stop the hospitality side and thank them for everything.

dont plan to reach 20 years total whatever happens with the hospitality place as done it for 14 years and feel its time to move on from hospitality and just trying to hang a little longer but might not be able to hang on that long and its only got harder since 2020 and dont expect to hang on much longer, hoping a couple more years or until it sells whatever is first

hi

how do you meet a girl to hang around with and how do you set up a meet up if you live in a small town and theres none locally (atleast not that interests you) and nearest is in a capital city which could be 2 hours away.

How do you find and make the money for cabin stays and more spending money

Just want the feeling of own place and something permanent to go stay at and to be as well off as your about to be ex boss with somewhere permanent to stay.

Not as well off as sister will hopefully be in 12 months as she’s seeing someone and there’s hers and his income and am single and only 1 income.

You make money by getting a job or working longer hours in the one you have.  Get a side hustle to fulfill your financial needs if that is what it takes.

You would do well to create some S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself:  specific, measurable, actionable, time based.   It's probably not realistic to say I will earn $1M by next week but it might be feasible to say I will earn $1,000 over the next 6 months.  Figure out something you can do even 10 hours per week & save every extra penny you make.

As for finding somebody to date, you put yourself out there socializing to meet new people through MeetUps, dating apps, volunteering, just going to a different grocery store.  You say hello.  You smile. You make small talk & they you ask, would you like to meet for coffee or a drink on [day of the week] at [location]?

Hi

What are ways to say to boss if you can no longer do certain hours due to other responsibilities and commitments and goals.

Just getting a bit tired of the hospitality work plus for example grandparents are needing more done as they are aging and need to be around as well and want to attend events and can’t because the hospitality industry works when those events are going plus done it 15 years and at a different chapter now and it’s time to close the last one and do work that isn’t the same as hospitality

You go to the boss & ask for a schedule change.  Understand the boss doesn't have to give it to you.  You are there to make the employer's job easier not the other way around.  However with the shortage of workers you have some more bargaining power.  If you have family obligations are there any laws where you live that help / protect you?  In the USA the Family Medical Leave Act gives people up to 12 weeks off to care for ill family members under certain circumstances.

Please update your CV and LinkedIn profile and start browsing for different positions out there. Many industries are 24/7, (hospitality, medical, police, etc) and if you are not cut out for that try to research jobs in the 9-5, M-F sector. It's up to you to find positions that suit you and your lifestyle.  Depending on your position, you could ask your employer about flexible or different hours or scheduling.
