Can an OP start a new post related to their original if it was permanently closed?

Can an OP make a new post with a new title that relates to the same subject matter as their original post, but is pertaining to and addresses where they currently stand in their dilemma, if the original was permanently closed on them?

Hi NorthernGuard, closure of a thread is not something done lightly.  It's a last resort when a thread has proven too complex and other methods of moderation have failed to manage it.  As such, I have not seen a thread reopen under a different name in my time here.  However, an OP could send a message to moderators using the "Contact Us" button if they wish to confirm either way.
