Restaurants are a bad idea right now. I recently had an odd adventure date. Normally I’m something of a numbers guy when it comes to dating but for safety, I’ve stuck with one lady since the pandemic started.

We took a tarp, and a tent into the woods. The park doesn’t allow camping so we couldn’t have a fire. We took along non-cook foods. Normally the park would’ve had too many people, but this time was rainy and chilly. Zero degree sleeping bags were more than warm enough. Rainy day in the woods is better than a rainy day at home.

We hiked in early and picked an isolated spot away from the trail.  We strung up a large tarp. Under that we set up a hammock. I suppose that would’ve been enough but it’s hard to get lucky in a hammock. We set up a small tent too. The tarp gave us a bigger dry area to walk around and lounge in the hammock. The tent was quiet because the raindrops hit the tarp instead.

Despite what I said above, she did get lucky once…in the hammock.

A long day, and a few beers, we went to sleep by 9. I was exhausted. I groggily woke about 3 AM, a corner of the tarp had broken loose and it was flapping noisily. I wanted to go out and fix it, but I kept falling back asleep. Soon I heard someone walking fast through the woods. Then it paused, then it started moving much more slowly. The steps were getting closer. I wanted to jump up, but I was too tired. Soon the tent filled with a foul odor. The footsteps stopped very close by. A few minutes later the footsteps moved away. The odor dissipated as the steps got further away. I fell back asleep.

In the morning I noted that the loose tarp corner was firmly secured. When my date woke, I told her how the legendary good Samaritan, Bigfoot, had fixed our tarp. It was an enjoyable date. For the record she thinks I slept soundly all night and that we didn't have a visitor.

Sounds more like a 🐻 bear.

But what if she was part of a crew, and while the two of you were out and about in the woods, getting lucky in a hammock, the other crew members broke into your home? Have you thought about that?

Homeless guy fixed your tarp. The Christmas spirit is still alive!

I cannot tell a fib, shortskirt. Though I admit that I can only speculate about bigfoot. It could've been another good Samaritan.

Gold Pile, not familiar with your posts but that was a great story!  Do you think you might have been having a lucid dream?   I have them often, at least once a month or so, they feel very real.    They can be hard to shake sometimes.

>>Lucid dreaming is when you're conscious during a dream. This typically happens during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, the dream-stage of sleep. An estimated 55 percent of people have had one or more lucid dreams in their lifetime. During a lucid dream, you're aware of your consciousness.

Are you 100% sure the corner broke loose? Maybe it was just a bit windy.

And then homeless guy and/or bear sized you guys up for a while and then moved on.

So, alternate possibility. At least it wasn't "greys" beaming you guys up! 🙂👽

I must admit poppy that it is possible. I'm thinking about going out there again and setting up some sort of camera. We'll see what comes of it.

I've the same thoughts. Maybe I heard a bear or homeless person walking. I kind of figure that those possibilities are a little far fetched though.

My date said she enjoyed our woods date, but she doesn't want to do it again till the warmer months. Looks like I'll have to stag to the woods. I'll have a camera set up. If I'm lucky enough to get a pic, I'll go the extra mile and ask Mr. Foot to autograph it.

Or maybe lay into it more.  He might see it then vs. just hearing it and getting hints.
