A type meaning, when a person has this certain trait or traits, you ALWAYS feel attracted to them.  At least initially.  This is what I would call a classic definition of a "type".  It doesn't matter if the attraction fades because other less attractive traits come out or overshadow it, what matters is that upon encountering the trait/traits that you like, you, without fail, always feel attracted to a person possessing them.

So, do you have a type?

No one has a type? Is this an absurd idea?  Maybe I'm the only one?

My type is the guy I happen to be with.

That's interesting.  I used to think I was that way - as I have been with different types, and really enjoyed it, but I just noticed that there's a particular type that I seem to not be able to resist AT ALL, whereas others I can if necessary (even though I may like them to).  I asked myself why I can't resist and I just realized that it's because they are my "type".

Both and either.

Are you hankering for a particular someone from your past you can't let go of, perhaps?

I never really had a physical type, but personality-wise I used to be attracted to outwardly confident, accomplished guys with a strong sarcastic sense of humour. Not sure why. Turns out although a couple of them were really good guys, 2 of them were an insecure mess behind closed doors, so that's a pattern I wanted to break.

With age and experience, I've come to appreciate quiet confidence. I'm told my SO has a ruthless streak at work, that I've never seen at home. Even in an argument he's super respectful - I'd not experienced that before. He doesn't take himself seriously, and his cute 'British' sense of humour is never at somebody else's expenses.

So while all my exes were my type when I was with them, my partner is definitely my type.

Of course , l couldn't even imagine anyone not having a type . But then there is a helluva lotta people in forums just chasing their tails so not having or knowing  must be pretty common actually.

I am particularly attracted to petite, pretty, Asian women.  However, I've rarely dated any.  I find many "types" of women attractive, and I've mostly dated based on personality and character - and of course, availability.

I love this.   This is what I mean.

This is for you central. I love the way he looks at her here.

David Bowie was pretty much my type. My ultimate type was glam rockers. A lot of the guys in the late eighties in kind of glammy hard hair bands were also my type.

I can't imagine it either but who knows... maybe others are different, so I thought I'd ask.  I'm not sure everyone knows their type, you know?  It can be hard to discern.  I'm only just now realizing mine in the last couple of years.

Absolutely.  If you line up every man I have ever dated including my husband save for a few outliers, they all look like they could be related: thick  dark hair, light eyes, medium height & slender build.  They are all confident, smart & quick with wicked senses of humor.  Ironically when they bump into each other then generally get along.

Few photos survived of my old flame because he moved all over the world, but he was so attractive.  Someone posted a bad quality but old photo of him standing up.  His face was all obscured with ruined photo, and that was the best part of him to me, but it was just a jolt to see a photo of him at the time I first started seeing him around.  It wasn't my imagination.  He was tall and dressed cool and just his body had this line to it.  I got the chills all over again.  It was such a trip back in time.  The last time I saw him now about 15-20 years ago, his body looked the same, but I didn't like his clothes as well and hated his beard, but I still got the chills being next to him.  I guess he just defined what I was attracted to for me.

I don't think I have a type per say, but black haired brunette tends to be a bonus in terms of attraction. This could be with asian, caucasian, and even black women. It's enough to be significant, but not enough to override other factors, and so I've only had so many relationships with black-haired brunettes.

Always attracted romantically to every single person who has these chatacteristics, no, but I absolutely have a type. Extremely bright, funny (usually in an offbeat or dark kind of way), a little introverted/shy, and incredibly romantic.

I have types....plural.  I like tall slender aggressive women.  I also like shorter, smaller, cute ones.  My GFs are the small, adorable variety and definitely fit my usual type.

Physically? Tall, slender, light eyes, full lips.  Can't resist these guys.

Personality-wise? He's Extremely emotionally intelligent and pure.  Like a Gary Zukav or something. Just amazing.  I rarely see these guys but if I saw one, I would melt.

My 'type' has morphed so many times over the years that it's fair to say that I don't have one.
