So last night my GF was talking about having Skype sex with a number of different men in the past. Many of these guys are local, and very creepy. (don't ask, she's a strange girl) With many of these guys things ended badly, with them telling each other off in loud screaming matches. We are just wondering what the odds are that these guys recorded her masturbating over skype and posted them online, or worse, showing the videos to their/our friends. I realize there's not much point in worrying about it, and it doesn't really bother me, but she was very concerned when I mentioned how easy it is to record a skype chat. I'm more asking this on her behalf. The idea of these guys having video footage of her masturbating seemed to upset her greatly, especially one guy in particular who we both agreed is the type of guy who would go around showing everyone the videos.

Should she be worried about this? or is she over-reacting?

Oh, Jesus-Mary-Mother-of-God (and I'm an occultist) - you guys didn't break up over the this whole issue last week?

Regardless, yes, she should be worried.

I used to own an Internet Service Provider and a huge amount of the data that we stored was considered "amateur porn" and "revenge porn" of people doing things over Skype that they had no knowledge of.

I'm not proud of the fact that I was part of that industry and there is a reason I am no longer part of it.

But, yes, sites like motherless-dot-com and others are rife with this sort of thing.

What should she do about it? I mean we can go on those websites and look for her, but if nothing has been uploaded I guess we have to just accept that these guys have the videos, and in all likelihood show them to their friends? I don't care, but she's pretty worried about it.

Absolutely!! Particularly if your girlfriend didn't take any precautions in terms of keeping her face covered/hidden/masked etc.

I've known too many people who were blackmailed as a result of some online fun.

You can NEVER be too careful.

I don't know how or even if there is a way to check if your girlfriend's shenanigans are streaming online. Perhaps Carrie might shed some light on this given her experience in the industry.

At this point I would just tell your girlfriend that unless she hears otherwise, it's in the past and to consider this a live and learn moment not to be repeated.

Good luck.

Honestly? Your going to tell me that she's never saw a video on you tube of people fighting or doing something wrong? You think the person who took the video walked up and asked them for permission?

IMHO she had to know that the minuet she kicked her legs up on the desk and flashed her goods to who ever they weren't recording it? Come on man. You picked a real good one friend.

LOL

Good thing we have this forum so others can call on our bull****.

It seems very convenient that she needs you in her crisis. Where are her best friends now?

I have no idea how she can get that stuff offline. Bloody scary.

I'm just curious here...

What has your gf "not" done out there in the sex industry?

You reap what you sow.

Reckless actions without thought generally have the possibility of being followed up by consequences of some sort, and that's the situation your girlfriend is in.

All she can do now is cross her fingers, smarten up, and use her head a bit more. Although, your last thread outlines that she refuses to stop chatting up guys she has slept with in the past while she's with you...running 50 conversations at once with all different men!

I certainly don't have much hope for her changing her ways in the short term at least. I think it's going to take some years of intensive self-reflection on her behalf, and likely some professional help to alter such extreme and potentially damaging behaviour.

Buckle yourself in OP - I have a feeling you're in for quite the ride :(

I'd look at doing some intensive self-reflection yourself to be honest...it definitely can't hurt. You can't have a healthy relationship with an unhealthy person. I think you need to identify and address whatever it is in you that allows you to stay with a girl who refuses to stop talking to other men while she's with you. Why do you not feel that you deserve better?

Note to self: don't visit motherless dot com while eating lunch.

The internet is so freakin' overrun with porn and naked girls and women doing virtually anything to get their 15 minutes of fame that your girlfriend would be nothing more than just another deviant in the crowd.

Why she's all nervous about something like that being out there when she was a dammed sex worker years ago is beyond me. She's already left her mark in more ways than one.

Really good odds they are recorded and have been put on the internet. That stuff can go either way, it can get easily forgotten like Lois said, or it can go viral and everyone will see it.

She isn't hoping to run for public office is she?

There, fixed it.

It may have been recorded, but it may be very difficult to know if anything was ever posted online. Unless or until you find it or are told about it. Sure, it would be embarrassing if widely seen - especially if she's portrayed herself as the good girl type - but it's nothing that millions haven't already posted or seen online.

Well, that's my attitude about it. A few mildly pornographic low-res videos floating around with the other 10 million videos on the internet... is not a big deal IMO. But she's always had a fear of being recorded sexually. She's fine with nude photos because she was a nude model but she is terrified of making a sex tape because she's afraid it will get leaked online. I think maybe it's because she's pretty well known online and her modelling profile has a lot of followers. I think she's afraid if anything like that ever got linked back to her it would go viral with her fans. Which is understandable. But I don't think it's a very big deal.

I agree with central - at some point you just have to shrug your shoulders and live your life. If you agonize over every possible security breach, you'll worry yourself to death.

If someone saw me in a video like that online and tried to smear me with it, I'd ask how they discovered it and why they frequent sites like that (and then publicize that info as well). If it's just the seeing that's at stake ....oh well, beat off and have a nice time I guess if that's your thing. [shrug]

As others have said, there are now millions of these images and videos out there so it would be really hard to find them of your GF. However, if she did a lot of Skyping with guys, I can guarantee there are videos of her out there somewhere.

If you ever find them, the process to have them removed is really difficult; mostly because sites like this thrive on content and site owners will copy content from one site and post it on a mirrored site with a slightly different name.

But, if you do come across any videos or images, here is the process as documented by Women Against Revenge Porn:

1. File a report with Law Enforcement

2. Hire an Attorney to file for invasion of privacy

3. Post on Social Media

4. Post on Google

5. Use a service like DMCA to process the take-down of the videos.

It used to be a lot harder; the victim has to do a forensic analysis to determine the IP addresses of the perpetrator and internal coding of the video. Revenge Porn Laws are changing that.
