This man is not a friend to your marriage. Could this man jeopardize your husband's career if he decided to get mad about you ending your "friendship" with him? I believe she said this man is her husbands boss and they work closely together. On a side note, OP had an emotional affair, for most men they don't see the damage this can cause and simply don't view it as all that bad.
