Tayken Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I want a guy whose red flags don't fill up an entire football stadium (World Cup size too). Oh, and who can quote from Monty Python and Black Adder and Dr Who (Tom Baker). That's me in then Doctor Who “Ah, lovely old technology. Back on twentieth century earth, the engineers used to just (hits it—screen comes back on). Definitely an earth device.” “We’re all basically primeval slime with ideas above its station.” “Why can’t people be nice to one another, just for a change? I mean, I’m an alien, and you don’t want to drag me into a swamp, do you? You do.” “Yes, money. Hired thieves and murderers don’t usually work for love.” “Keep calm, Sarah, keep calm. Whatever you do, keep c—you are calm.” (regarding the Osirins) “They have dome-shaped heads and cerebellums like spiral staircases.” "Sarah Jane Smith referring to the Doctor – “He talks to himself sometimes because he’s the only one who understands what he’s talking about.” Blackadder "Give the likes of Baldrick the vote and we'll be back to cavorting druids, death by stoning and dung for dinner..." "Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?" "Field Marshal Haig is about to make yet another gargantuan effort to move his drinks cabinet six inches close to Berlin." "You find yourself amusing, Blackadder." "I try not to fly in the face of public opinion." 1
writergal Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 You're hired! Erm, I mean, "hello there!" That's me in then Doctor Who “Ah, lovely old technology. WhatIsLove2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I want a guy who thinks about me just as much, if not more, as I do him I want a guy to understand and share my strange and random humor I want a guy who is considerate I want a guy who will tell me how he feels I want a guy who will be honest with me, without being an ******* I want a guy to have an open mind with a strong backbone I want a guy who is amazing (to me) 1
somedude81 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 How come nobody is saying they want a man who is respectful, not abusive or controlling or demanding? Thankfully a couple of women mentioned loving, caring and protecting. With so many stories of women being abused I'm almost getting the thought that women don't care if their man doesn't respect her. That's really sad.

somedude81 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 That's kind of implied, right? Lol From the constant cases of women being abused and staying with an abusive man, no I'd say that it's not implied.
WhatIsLove2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 From the constant cases of women being abused and staying with an abusive man, no I'd say that it's not implied. I see your point.

somedude81 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 That's a given Some of the women who have posted in this thread have also posed about their relationships with men who haven't respected them and they didn't leave right away. So no, it's not a given.
WhatIsLove2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I mean but that's what they got...that doesn't mean that's what they want. 3
somedude81 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I mean but that's what they got...that doesn't mean that's what they want. Why stay with a man you don't want? My whole point is that women shouldn't settle for a man who doesn't treat her like a princess. Every woman should demand kindness, love and respect from her SO and leave the instant he's no longer treating her the way she deserves.

Tayken Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 That's a given Really....then they might want to put that in profiles as opposed to just focusing on looks. However, I don't believe it's a given considering the amount of broken relationships 2
Tayken Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Take the Tardis then! Ahahaha...as you well know, there is no point in being a grown up, if one can't be childish sometimes
WhatIsLove2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I think the post wasn't supposed to be so serious...just fun. I want a guy who doesn't abuse me.... yea 3
Tayken Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I think the post wasn't supposed to be so serious...just fun. I want a guy who doesn't abuse me.... yea Then make that your primary thing that jumps out in your profile...if you have one, as opposed to stating he has to be attractive / good looking, and then nothing else. One woman told me that the reason she doesn't list her red flags, is "because she doesn't want to scare men away"...Huh So you are going to wait to find out that a guy is a gambler, drug user, drunk, married before you dump him? Sounds like the definition of insanity to me, or Stockholm syndrome
Gloria25 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Well, I've been crushing on a guy for a while - so if he were to like me, I'd want him to (or like this tread says...'a guy who'): Enjoys the simple things in life (a beer, something good on TV, taking a walk in the park, sitting on your patio with a drink, a good meal) Accepts me for who I am - which kinda ties into the next one... I can relax and be myself in the bedroom with (fun, loving, inhibited sex) Stays in shape Has (or at least working towards) career/job, education, his own stuff...YES, I'm so tired of the "males" out there now a days who just want women to pay for everything for them...I don't want no scrubs!!! Doesn't believe weed or other drugs are ok...YES, it seems like everyone smokes weed or pops valium or some crap. Sorry, I'm not into that. Shares socio-political views as me... Isn't into the "bling"...I can't stand a guy who has to have the latest "this or that". I watch my gfs men spend money on name clothing, big houses, rims on their luxury cars and I don't have the energy or time to 'keep up with the Joneses'. Yes, I'll spend like $100 on a pair of shoes, but it usually is cuz the shoes are like a quality brand - not cuz of the label. Hygiene and modesty...The whole 'This is 40's' movie where the guy is taking a dump with the bathroom door open in front of his wife is NOT happening in my lifetime. Also, while I expect him to bathe and brush his teeth, I don't want a man with a better manicure than mine (no Metrosexuals). Confidence...I don't need a guy trying to bang every chick he sees cuz he has to prove something to himself. I don't need a guy questioning my commitment to him...I mean, I had a guy who wanted to tell me how to dress, call me at odd hours of the day/night to see if I was at work - and I don't know why. I am a one-man woman (even in my casual RLs) if he is a one-woman-man. So, if he's not playing the field, I won't either. Doesn't talk me to death...I don't need a girlfriend - I need a man. That's what I can of think for now... 2
Author me85 Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Straight men... I was just saddened that almost no woman wrote something like "I want a guy who will respect me and treat me with kindness."
