nerdlingZA Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hey guys... I need your help here what are some of the things ya'L used to do when ya'll was under 23 ??? My life was perfect at 16 and 17. Up untill my Ex knocked me and made me miserable I've had a hard time getting back up into my feets. Not to mention that school doesn't allow me to do **** as I'm looking on scoring A's. But the problem is that books bore me to death half the time I'm thinking of women but I never react. I need some fun things to do , what were you guys doing at age 18-23 besides studying?? I need to revive myself. Thanks.
Dallers Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 If you think 18 is bad wait for 28 that is the real no man's land. When I was 18 my phone was ringing off the hook and I decided which girl I wanted to see now I am like Nemo and there nobody trying to find me. Loosen up and go out with your mates and enjoy yourself. Make the most of this time because 10 years from now people have settled down, moved on and although you may still be the same person grey hairs grow, things ache and hurt and the good ones have already been taken. Get out there! 2
Strength in Healing Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I am like Nemo and there nobody trying to find me. Hahahah what state do you live brother I'll hang with you. But to the OP -- maybe you're dealing with depression. You should be doing what drives you. When nothing drove me, I realized it was depression.
Dallers Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Hahahah what state do you live brother I'll hang with you. haha I am in the UK! I don't think its depression becuase I don't cry but most of the time when I'm in the internet I kinda feel like ****. I did experience depression last year I ended up crying infront of my english class I couldn't do my speech as I was thinking of my dumb **** Ex
Dallers Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) I don't think its depression becuase I don't cry but most of the time when I'm in the internet I kinda feel like ****. I did experience depression last year I ended up crying infront of my english class I couldn't do my speech as I was thinking of my dumb **** Ex Depression does not make you cry very far from it. I think we all go through bouts of it although I seem to just bottle it down. Depression is normally not something that is easily seen on top and very difficult to diagnose. Most of the time you are told it is something you are doing to yourself which in my case it is otherwise you are told you are faking it. It sounds to me as though you maybe just are going through a transition and it will happen many times in your life some good some bad. Sadly, its normally more bad than good we face as we get older and it can take its toll. Edited June 22, 2014 by Dallers
Gaeta Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Let me see When I was your age we had no Internet, no computer, no Iphone, no cable. I spent time with my friends at the beach. We went sun bathing during the day and at night we would go back build a huge fire, roasted marshmallow, drank beer, and skinny dip. We went to festivals, amusement parks, outdoor concerts, clubbing, we went camping, or on long drive in the woods with the roof down. Home was to take a shower and sleep. I look back on my college years as being he best years of my life. 3

No Limit Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Just turned 18 a few weeks ago. Haven't turned that much attention to get a relationship, but rather travelling. I want to see the world. Perhaps you could try that too.
d0nnivain Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I hung out with my friends, went shopping, explored the world around me (with my limited budget) worked, planned for college & the future.
clia Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Like Gaeta, when I was 18-23, we had no cell phones and the Internet was just emerging. From 18-20, I was in college, and for fun we went to concerts, festivals, to the beach, on road trips, camping, to parties, to the movies, out on people's boats. I also read a lot of books. We got together as a group and watched certain TV shows and hung out and played board games or listened to music. From 21-22, all of the above plus going to bars. From 22-23, after I graduated from college, all of the above plus I was focused on my career.

Jumpers for goalposts. I do not regret being young when I was young. Now I look around at what people are growing up with and it is depressing. Being older in this new world is hard enough.
