Gloria25 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Ok, like a month or so ago a guy who lives in my neighborhood saw me walking around the area and asked me something along the lines of 'whether or not I am upset'. I don't remember what I told him, but I just considered it someone just being friendly (I guess). Anywho, I've also seen him out/about around when I walk by at different times/days and we'll wave "hi" now and then. So I figured maybe he's trying to talk to me... Well, I got the opportunity to chat him up and I feel so embarrassed/stupid. In chatting him up he says 'oh, my fiancé, bla, bla, bla' because of course, if you have a significant other it will come up in conversation. Then even though he asked me my name, he was like 'Have I ever met you somewhere?' And, I told him a while back he asked me if I was upset about something and he was like 'he doesn't remember speaking to me'. So what happened here? Is this a case of me just mixing up someone being friendly polite with someone being flirtatious? Again, I am sooo embarrassed. Too bad, he was soooo do-able and upon chatting him up I was able to really, really check him out and liked what I saw (athletic, tattoos, nice accent).
Assasda Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Your whole post is sending mixed signals to me. Why why are you mentioning your fiancee? Did the guy ask if you were married?
littleplanet Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 um, I read it twice, and the dude was mentioning HIS fiance........... Otherwise OP - looks to me like you're wishin' he wasn't taken. Them's the breaks. And yes......friendly and polite can often be taken for flirtatious. Happens all the time.
LostOnes05 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Assasda, the guy she was talking to has a fiancé. He brought it up.
Author Gloria25 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Assasda, the guy she was talking to has a fiancé. He brought it up. Correct... As I was chatting with him, he didn't say "Oh, I have a fiancé"...he just said something like "well, I take care of this and my fiancé takes care of that".
Assasda Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Ahhh... I see. Maybe you truly mixed him up. Hopefully you can find the real guy that said "hi" to you and talk to him for a bit. C'est la vie
Snakechammah Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 But wow, he's a great catch indeed! Kudos to him for mentioning his fiancee! IF he is ever single again, OP, do pursue him... a guy who mentions his other half while talking to another woman IS an honourable man! He sets boundaries and shows he's clearly taken, and this is such a respectable trait! Good on you for spotting a gem! But do move on and find someone else.
