maddiewilson Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 about 7 or 8 weeks ago, I started talking to this guy at my University’s gym. I would see him about twice a week, and we would talk a lot, but he’s really shy so he didn’t ask me for my number. He definitely seems like he likes me, he gives off all the obvious signs and remembers everything I tell him, looks over at me a lot, smiles, laughs at all my jokes, etc. I was going to try and make a move and ask him for his last week, but he never showed up to the gym because it was finals week. I’m not going to be able to see him for another 3 months, and I feel like thats a long time without any communication. I found his last name by looking up his information on the school website, then found him on facebook. Should I add him, or would that be weird? Would he be creeped out that I found him because he never gave me his last name?
d0nnivain Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 It's FB, not a marriage proposal. Click the Add Friend button & see what happens.
MidwestUSA Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 It's FB, not a marriage proposal. Click the Add Friend button & see what happens. Agree. But I would add that since you can message first as a prelude to friending, go ahead and explain how you sleuthed him out, and that you were sorry you missed him during finals week, and hope to keep in touch. I friended a guy with whom I shared a lot of mutual friends. Didn't personally know him. He's now my husband. Good luck!
d0nnivain Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I wouldn't go through all the trouble with the preamble. Just click Add a Friend. Let him figure out that you are the girl from the gym
whichwayisup Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Don't add him. You barely know the guy. If anything, exchange email addresses.
JohnM Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Depends if you are that fussed, three months isn't that long. Could just wait and go through with what you originally planned. I would be impressed if a girl bothered to find me on facebook and opened the contact. Some would find that a bit creepy, depends how well you can judge his character at this stage as to whether he would appreciate the forwardness since you read him as being shy or introverted.
