Wierd situation- Ex girlfriends family likes me more than the Ex

I was with my Ex girlfriend for almost 9 years. We broke up a year ago. The Ex girlfriends family recently found out on facebook that I have a new girlfriend and were disappointed cause I get along with them and have helped their daughter in different ways. They know that their daughter has changed and called her to let her know that she had let a good relationship go. Today they invited me to a birthday party saying everyone misses me but I decided not to go. Its kind of a weird situation when the family likes you but the ex girlfriend is no longer in love with you

Yeah, it is. But they aren't your family, they're your ex's.

They might feel that way but it's not going to change her feelings and that she ended it. If anything it's not healthy for you as you try to move on. My ex's mother was gutted that we broke up and tried to talk to him about my point of view, but the ex themselves made that decision. Family trying to talk to them might put them off even more.

 

Focus on your future, not your past. Ultimately her family will be loyal to her. Just try to move on, you can still be nice to them but there's no ties to them now.
