Ainsleigh Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 My boyfriend doesnt like necklaces or rings he doesnt really express what he like even when i try to get it out of him. Guys any ideas of what youd want your girlfriend to get you?
TXGuy Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 No jewelry or clothes. Maybe a tool or toy (depending on his interests - golf equip, fishing gear, Xbox paraphanalia, etc).
acrosstheuniverse Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 It has to be personal. Come on, you know the guy! There must be stuff he's into that you know he will love. It doesn't have to be expensive. It's my boyfriend's birthday next month, we've only been together a few months. He has told me before about his favourite short story of all time but how he has never been able to find it in English translation before. So I tracked that down and bought it for him. We have a thing about making proper lattes for each other in the morning but recently I lost my blender lid for frothing it up. So I bought him one of those little battery operated handheld whisks so that we can make our lattes frothy again. We have an injoke about tiny unicorns living in my bed (don't ask) so I found a book about raising unicorns and unicorn farming ... and he used to be into sketching but hasn't done it for years, so I'm gonna get him a nice sketchbook and some quality pencils. And I'm taking him out for the day and buying us dinner so that's part of it too. None of that was expensive (although the travel to the city we're having dinner in plus dinner ain't exactly super cheap) but it's all meaningful to him/us. When it was my birthday we'd only been together a week but he ordered me a couple of CDs of one of my favourite musicians I'd never been able to track down (he's Isreali, I'm not so they had to be imported) and took me out for a really nice dinner. It was thoughtful 1

jonsnuh Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 No jewelry or clothes. Maybe a tool or toy (depending on his interests - golf equip, fishing gear, Xbox paraphanalia, etc). TXGuy hit the point. Appeal to his interests, perhaps something he needs/practical. 1
Poppyolive Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Buy a couples adventure date....driving range, skydive, tandum bicycle ride, go karts, ATV rental....followed by cooking all his favorite food even if it is candy, Beer and steak! Simple touches that ooze love. Its too easy to go to jewelery store say I'll have that one.... Something with meaning goes a long way. 1

Skydiving, even if only indoors, would peg the "I got a girlfriend who is better than that" meter!
d0nnivain Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 How long have you been together? What's your budget? What are his interests? Definitely get him something that reflects him. Practical gifts are better received by women. You get me an appliance that I didn't specifically ask for & I will be upset but men will be happy. I once bought a BF a 6ft A frame ladder. I thought it was a dumb gift but he loved it. Wrapping it was impossible so I just put a bow on the paint can holder part that says 'this is not a step'. lol 2
GemmaUK Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I would go for indoor skydiving...it's amazing! Or treat him to a day/night out. Just spoil him.

Absolutely a high quality tool. Do not do indoor skydiving. He will have the tool for for the rest of his life and will think of you from time to time whenhe uses it.
