Yep, fair question and in my opinion a rather straight forward one. Definitley dos NOT necessarily mean he wants a fling! Could well be the opposite.

Most guys are going to say they are looking for a relationship even when they really aren't. How I would answer this question, is that I am looking for a relationship, but he is a complete stranger... And I hope he wants to take the time to get to know each other before I am obliged to make a romantic decision about him. This is pretty effective at short circuiting the 3 date rule guys and the ones looking for something casual...

That is assuming you are looking for a relationship.

Well, he's definitely looking for a relationship, and not one I'm interested in right now because he texts me MORNING NOON AND NIGHT.

Definitely coming across as needy and weird, this one. I don't think there will be a second date.

I just want to emphasize this for any male readers that get the bright idea that bombarding a woman with attention will win her over (unless she is the type to feed off of attention). This example above is proof it doesn't work.

Depends on the chick. I know women who love texting all the time. Plus I think op just isn't that into him. She should stop trying to make her disinterest sound like the dude is doing something terribly wrong. Thats all this thread has been about. His question and texting wouldn't be a problem if she was very attracted to this dude.

I guess it depends on the person, but I'm really turned off by people who text constantly. I mean, a little back and forth once a day is fine, but too much and it comes across as "what are you doing right now I want to check up on you constantly are you out with another guy omg," which is what is happening in this case.

Text once a day, keep the conversation short. They say men like to chase, but women like a bit of mystery. They also like to be able to get their work done, sleep, socialize, etc. without their phone constantly buzzing with "what are you doing right now."

Well, I can see that texting that involves checking up on the person is pretty annoying. But when my bf and I first met, we could not stop talking to each other for several hours a day. It really just depends on how much you like each other.
