Guitarisgood Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Just wanted to see what type of names you get given by your significant other. How do you tell the difference on the other side, between a nickname from someone that just sees you as a friend? I.e. if you are called 'RobRob' or 'Robob' (not my name but you get the drift). Do nicknames matter or mean much in the bigger scheme of things?
acrosstheuniverse Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I've never had a nickname from a friend, my name doesn't lend itself well to nicknames! As for with relationships, something usually crops up during the relationship that you end up calling the other person. The more weird and wonderful and related specifically only to your relationship, the better. For example right now we have this injoke where he'll call me 'snoozy' or 'squeaky' and I'll get all mock offended and possessive as though he's called me another girl's name and say 'who... the FK is Suzi/Kiki/whatever' it sounds really cheesy and naff now writing it out loud to a bunch of strangers but to us it's adorable My friends would be really confused if he started calling me Suzi around them, when that is nowhere near my name.
