Awwwww I'm so excited for you keenly!

Thanks Phoe. I'll definitely be seeing her again, and she likes me, I can already tell.

This could be the opportunity I have been patiently awaiting.

When I read your first post, the word that came to mind was...patience.

The "problem" with you youngsters is letting time pass. As you stated, texting is normal. But you assume that a text should be returned in a few minutes or hour at most. Back in my day, we called with those land lines and if the person didn't pick up, we left a message. We didn't expect a message back in minutes or even hours.

I cannot imagine you waiting for the post man to deliver a letter.

On her end, she was probably afraid of seeming to eager. :D

Good luck on your date. This beginning may be something to tell your children when texting is outdated.

Well James wanted to add another point of view that we didn't know of and I found it interesting.

What I'm wondering is this: what if this girl was texting you non-stop and she had become a little clingy before meeting her? Would you still show the same interest in her? Lets assume now that her disappearing for one day was all an act. Why do we people encourage and reward "fakeness"?

Just thought I'd give the update. Just got back from meeting with her. I met her right after work after a lengthy drive. We sat and talked for four hours.

I believe I have chosen my next girlfriend.

She was into it, and we have a great deal in common. Including our love of video games and all things nerdy.

This should be an exciting development, if the gods so will it.

Awwwwww :) I'm really glad to hear that! When someone genuinely likes you it's a lot harder to mess up than you'd think :) Good luck and have fun!!

I would have still maintained the same interest level, but the first meeting would not have gone so smooth or so long if it had been different.

Her texting style is just different than mine. She says she is really bad with texts but loves calla, so I told her I'd call her often.

She seemed just as interested in me as I was in her, even complimented on my attractiveness, how I smelled, my eloquence, and my intelligence.

Soooooo. It can't be too Bad :D

I knew she had enjoyed herself when our " goodbye " hug / farewell took 20 minutes.

I never quite revealed what I did. I think I'm probably not going to , because I feel like being mysterious. I'm going to call her up after I get off work today and plan the second date for next week.

Video game design major, works at GameStop, and shes freaking gorgeous. Can some one say JACKPOT?

Amazing how someone can come into our lives and turn it all upside down...in a good way. :)

Wonder what she is telling her friends about you?

Crap... one more thing to needlessly worry about.

When I was single, I liked girls who werent over eager. I met so many girls who were so overly enthusiastic that you had to wonder if they were that way with every guy they saw. I also suspected they were a little shallow. I think it is fine if this girl is normal and doesn't blow up your phone/text. It means she has decorum and restraint....which in turn means she isn't desperate for a boyfriend. She likes Keenly for Keenly, and not just any guy to fill a void in her life.

Glad you had a nice time on your date. Nothing more satisfying in life than really having a connection with a lovely woman and feeling possibility there. I know what she means about phone calls, there is something very intimate in hearing the sound of their voice and their inflections when saying certain things. In texting, some things can be misconstrued and lost in translation.

Very happy for you,

Grumps

P.S. My oldest daughter (23) just walked by my computer and randomly said, Oooh, he is cute about your profile pic. Ugh...why oh why do they have to say stuff like that around me?

Hey, I like to think that if a daughter is bringing anyone home to meet the parents, that I would be a little on the preferable side :D

Please thank your daughter for me the compliment, grumps.

And I know I'm not stupid, but I also know that no one is immune to occasionally doing something stupid, as I did by worrying. Now I'm not worrying... but thats not stopping me from hoping that its her every time my phone goes off.

I remember when I "fell in love" for the first time. Thought the girl was "the one" and genuine about her feelings. Little that I knew she was playing, and that was her way of texting/talking to men. Broken heart, wasted time.... Ah... You just need to shy away from making any early hopes.
