Corduroy Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) first off i'm not into this! this girl is an assistant where i work at. she keeps asking me a million questions all day. she gets pretty personal too. she keeps asking about me and my ex girlfriend, and tells me how hot i am. i just stay friendly and try not to act annoyed. she asks me how old i am, i told her i'm 26. i asked her how old she was, and she only said i'll be 18 next year. i'm a decade older than her basically. then she asked me for my number so we can go out sometime. i thought about giving her a fake number but i have to see her all the time so i reluctantly gave it to her. i feel like a creep, i don't want to go out with her. i can only think of so many excuses when she asks me. what should i do? Noproblem Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well, that would only get you in trouble .... I hate when they ask for my number and I feel obliged to give it to them Don't reply to her texts ..
TXGuy Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 You might try responding with "I don't think that is an appropriate work conversation" or something to that effect. She might be unfamiliar with professional boundaries. I would err on the side of potentially hurting her feelings rather than appearing to participate in a flirtation with a minor at work. You are smart to try to keep your distance. If this situation turns into some drama, they are not going to blame the kid, but the 'creepy' man that let it come to that. 2
Strength in Healing Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Which state do you live in? It's legal in most! lolol sorry had to 1
GorillaTheater Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 "Sorry, I don't date girls I work with." Or "You are WAY too young for me." Or "Thanks, but I'm gay." This sh*t is really pretty simple. 13
Zahara Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 At 26, why don't you have the ability as an adult to tell her that you would prefer to keep your interactions on a professional basis. And when she crosses that line, you check her and let her know that you are not interested in anything other than a work relationship. You're behaving like an 18 year old by giving out a fake number. What happens when she calls it and realizes it's fake? Judging from your past thread, I have a feeling while you like to complain, you secretly like the attention. 1

contact1 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 If she messages you, just keep telling her you are busy, eventually she will get tired of it. I don't think she will take a "I'm not interested in you at all" type of response well at all. You can make her tired of you by just not being available at all. It's a tough situation, when where whatever you do, you somehow end up losing

You act like a teen. You're a 26 year old man. If an 18 year old is pestering you, be an adult and state the boundary. She'll live and move on. If you can't have an adult conversation with her, and if you do actually like the attention (seems like it isn't weird enough for you to put a stop to it since YOU encourage it) then don't complain. 1

Be the adult in this situation. Tell her all of the things GorillaTheater suggested.

Hello_is_it_me Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 If 17 is legal in your state and she's cute and your personalities click, then I would take her out.
gaius Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Just get over the indoctrination about how wrong it is and bang her. Just because shes young doesn't mean shes retarded to the point she doesn't know what turns her on.
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Though seriously, TS, if you're 26 and the problem here is that "you don't know how to say 'no' " then you need to learn that lol. What if this was a 10 year old girl that kept hitting on you? Would you "keep running out of excuses?" Man up and grow a pair.
ExpatInItaly Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Why don't you do as others advised - tell her you want to keep your relationship professional? Don't respond to her texts. This isn't so complicated, really.
kaylan Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 OP wants to bang the young girl. Why else make a thread about this? Its not hard to say "im too old for you" and then forget the situation. 3

Trnamakesnse Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I met a girl when she was 16 and I was 24. She recently turned 18 and never once hinted at her interest but for that entire time we were friends. She's a sweet girl and we get along great. No reason to be bothered by her age when it's legal. I'm currently trying to get something started nothing permanent no but she's a sweet girl and like I said we've been friends a long time. It would be fun. That said if you don't want to be with someone just tell them so.
Keenly Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'd do her. Then again its been a long time since I had that kind of attention. P.s. I always found it hilarious that people look down more on a 26 year old with an almost 18 year old than a 45 with a 35. 1
Author Corduroy Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 alright, she came up to me again. i told her that thats a big age gap. she said "not for me, i've been with guys that are you're age." then she walked off. slut? next time she talks to me, i'm just going to say i'm trying to get back with my ex, and i don't want to chill with anyone right now.
Titania22 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Seriously what is so hard about saying, "sorry I'm not interested".

WHOA! HOLD UP! SLUT?! What because she likes older men?! WTF!? That doesn't mean she sleeps around constantly! WTF! Seriously man just that's just wrong. 3

I always found it hilarious that people look down more on a 26 year old with an almost 18 year old than a 45 with a 35. Shame how many dudes think solely with their d!ck. How can you not see the difference between those two situations? An 18 yr old is a far cry away from a 35 yr old. The big reason people frown upon older folks hooking up with teenagers is because those kids barely have any life experience, and its common for the older person to emotionally manipulate them. I imagine some dudes on this site would say its ok to screw a 14 or 15 year old if she had big enough t!ts and they wouldnt get in trouble with the law. Guess Im different. Teenagers come off as kids to me. I have noticed that men with daughters, or who have younger sisters or close younger relatives, tend to not look at teen girls as sexual options.
