When a guy picks on you and calls you out in a group often, what does this mean?

Would love GUYS opinion, especially if you're a more cocky/popular guy...And GIRLS too...anyone really.

 

 

I'm currently seeing someone, nothing official yet, but another guy we've known for a long time, tends to pick on me often, more so in a jokingly way, but there are days where he seems more mean about it... especially in a group of friends, if I say something or say a joke, out of no where he'll raise his voice and say something like "she would never do that!" or "you meant to say that, ba-haha!" Something along those lines, as if he REALLY knows me but he doesn't...

 

He's flirty with other girls but more nice-flirty with them, and with me, he seems a little more aggressive, somewhat cold and distant too, and it always seems awkward around him, feels very up and down... I'm very polite to him, I ask the questions, make conversation, and he seems very quiet around me unless I say something... he doesn't seem this way around others... and why be randomly mean to me sometimes?

 

I'm very confused and wondering if he has secret feelings for me... does the raised voice and calling me out often in a group of people mean anything? I notice he also has a hard time saying my name sometimes, like introducing me to a friend or if he has to give something to me... it just all feels awkward... no one else treats me this way..

It sounds like he is either shy and compensating for it by being a jerk, OR he is simply a jerk. I suspect a swift kick to the balls would remedy the situation in short order. Then you'll see how raised his voice really can be.
