mattyarnold Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 is it necessary bad to have spats in a relationship? I'm not talking full blown arguments, just minor spats and disagreements. are they necessarily a bad thing?
strategicalmapper Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 As long as both parties know the difference between an argument and a fight, I'd say arguments can be VERY beneficial in a relationship. For clarity: An argument is the search for truth through reason, a fight is the search for victory. 1
Eivuwan Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 A relationship with no arguments likely means that people are avoiding problems. 2
d0nnivain Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Nobody agrees about everything all the time. Minor disagreements or spats as you call them happen. It's how they are handled that is telling. 1
kiss_andmakeup Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Read the title and all I could think of were these: http://www.michaeljacksoncelebrityclothing.com/MJ-Pics/smooth-criminal-spats..jpg Which, surely, are fundamental to a healthy relationship. 1
markmartinisfast Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I had a spat on tuesday with my girlfriend, even though i didnt see it that way. she apologized to me and i told her it was no big deal but i appreciated it
babycakees Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Every couple argues from time to time. Screaming, yelling, storming out of the room and not admitting when you are wrong are all red flags in a relationship. Adults should be able to discuss their differences. 1

I'm not talking full blown arguments, just minor spats and disagreements. are they necessarily a bad thing? If both people are intelligent, confident, and opinionated, spats are inevitable. It's a good thing. 1
travelbug1996 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Conflict is normal as long as each party is respectfu, considerate and focused on a resolution as opposed to arguing about the same things. I have no respect for a man that can't have a fair fight. Dated a guy that said he didn't like conflict and turned out to be the most passive aggressive person ever. Such a coward.
