peruano99 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 When I mean big I mean 6ft+, not too fat, but not too thin as well. I have just shot up in height during the last couple of months so that's why I am asking. Thanks for your help.
anne1707 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I'm married to one. Wouldn't have it any other way 1
mukkrakker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 According to wiki the average height of men is 6ft 1.1in, so I'd be worrying about all your competition, not whether women like you - they'll have no choice!
kiss_andmakeup Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I've dated men ranging from my height (5'8") all the way up to 6'4" (my fiancé). Doesn't really matter to me. Just stay fit to the best of your abilities and you'll be good. I think most women do prefer taller men, as it's a constant bone of contention on these boards. So I'm sure you'll be fine.

mammasita Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Height makes no difference when I'm straddling you
hotpotato Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 According to wiki the average height of men is 6ft 1.1in, so I'd be worrying about all your competition, not whether women like you - they'll have no choice! That's an average. Many guys are under 6ft tall. The average is 6'1 because of super tall outliers pulling up the numbers. Most men I've seen max out at 6'3, and that's pretty exceptional. Most men are around 5'10. To answer OP, I like tall guys. The tallest guy I ever went on a date was a full 6'9.

mukkrakker Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 That's not a worldwide statistic. For the world its about 5'7 wow, batting 0 for 2 today, I shall listen to the tv and read wiki more adroitly in the future!
dragon_fly_7 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) The same as seeing any man. He would have to fit certain values and important qualities (besides height) I'm looking for. BTW the average height for men in the US is really between 5'8-5'10. If we're talking about the Alps or Neitherlands then it might be 6'1 while for women there it would be 5'7 (my height). jba10582 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 My boss talks about taller women as his wife is from iceland. I guess its not even that abnormal for guys to like taller women either...because I tend to agree with him. To be honest though...im my entire life I heard plenty of women talk about height, but in my experience it never seemed to be the issue of why a couple was together or not. It seems more of a preference than a requirement as I feel the same way as a lot of women in the inverse.
darkmoon Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) tall can be sexy, can add a certain look, if carried nonchalantly, I see a confident happy guy with rangy legs, you might not feel this straight away, but you will, just relax and forget about your worries, if only one day to start with, then two, three...a week, but you might need a counsellor if you have trouble relaxing Edited March 12, 2014 by darkmoon
Author peruano99 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 Well I always had a big upper body when I was shorter, I could sit down next to someone who was way taller than me and appear the same size sitting down. My legs recently have grown a lot these couple of months,so I look more proportionate.
MissBee Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Peruano, Why are you always posting about what do "women" think? Different women think different things. You must realize this right? Some women like particular things, others don't. However, to answer more specifically, I haven't heard too many women complaining about a man being too big height wise. 2

amaysngrace Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 However, to answer more specifically, I haven't heard too many women complaining about a man being too big height wise. My sister did. She didn't want to date a guy because he's 6'11" and didn't want people staring at them. He's now her husband.
thefooloftheyear Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 A guy can be short and big.. A guy can be tall and small.. The two do not go hand in hand... TFY 1

I thought from the avatar that you're a guy in his twenties, but 99...year of birth? Shot up in the last couple of years? Are you in your early teens Peruano? Not that it stops you from being allowed to post here or getting advice from people anything like that, but I'm pretty sure none of the women here would want to be making inappropriate comments to a young guy in his early teens. So if you're just a young guy (and the fact that you're still growing suggests you are), maybe just let us know so that people can tailor their responses accordingly and appropriately. 3

FitChick Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 It depends on how the weight is distributed. I recently walked within five feet of Ashton Kutcher, whom I never really paid attention to, and found his classic "triangle" shape -- broad shoulders with slim hips -- very sexy. He was taller than expected. Otherwise, he looked like an average slob in jeans and plaid shirt. His face does nothing for me.

I am 20 and will be 21 next month. My grandfather also got a growth spurt when he was around 20. I was 5'8 many years ago and grew slowly until the ending of 2013, beginning of this year. The reason why I like having discussions with adults rather than people around my age is because people around my age only care about partying, living the life, and not about anything else. I go to college with the only goal into finishing my Biological sciences, applying to Med School, and hopefully getting in. I don't really have time to socialize at the moment because I am too focused on meeting the extreme requirements for medical school. I'll be finishing in my 30s, but the reward of helping people will be satisfying to me, especially since my aunt passed away from Cancer a few months ago, and that's what motivated me to become a Doctor helping Cancer patients. Now did I answer your question? Edited March 12, 2014 by peruano99 1
Taramere Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I am 20 and will be 21 next month. My grandfather also got a growth spurt when he was around 20. Okay, sorry I misunderstood, Peruano. I suppose it was the combination of the growth spurt with "99" in your username (people often use the year of their births for the number).
Author peruano99 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 Nah 99 is just an easy number I remember.
BradJacobs Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Most women looooooove tall guys. Not sure why. Because we typically make them feel safe and can envelope them in the bedroom. I'm 6'5 and a year shy of 40. I've asked a lot of women that same question and those are the two most common answers. However that has some selection bias as the women that are turned off by height aren't with me and thus never get asked that question.
