How did you justify it to yourself? I guess I mean if you know it isn't going to workout for whatever reason.. but you're either like the ego boost or just don't feel like being completely honest...
ExpatInItaly Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Somewhat, yes. I knew for a little before an ex and I broke up that it wasn't going to work out for us. I guess I stayed because we were each other's 'security' blanket, I was afraid to be alone, and also because I didn't want to hurt him by admitting that I didn't see a future for us before. Selfish and short-sighted on my part. I have learned a lot since then.
bubbaganoosh Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I strung a girl along when I was in high school many moons ago and one night I caught up with her at a dance and asked her to dance with me and got turned down. I thought OK and a little while later I went to go speak with her and she walked away to the ladies room. I thought OK and little while later I went over to talk to her and she just walked away. I finally asked her girlfriend what was wrong with her and she just looked at me and said "Hurts huh." I finally got it through my thick skull and realized that the tables got turned on me and it wasn't much fun. I learned from my mistake. That was about 48 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. 1
