GarrusVakarian Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Don't know, maybe its just me?. But I don't feel I can move on and start seeing other people until divorce has gone through. I am planning to file as soon as the financial and house has been transferred over to me. I have kind of met someone, but I don't want to take it further until I am divorced and my wife is no longer in the picture. Maybe just in case she kicks off and makes life hard if she found out.
carhill Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I think that's a sound instinct, considering you've yet to file! That said, if women are scarce in your area and you've 'found one', maybe better to not let her go, especially if you've an aversion to being alone! Been divorced about three years and alone here. Still have the house too. Different strokes!
CaliGypsy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I don't think there is any one size fits all answer for that. Personally, when I separated from my husband with the intent to divorce I felt free to see someone if I wished. I know for him (ex h) the paper is important and he feels like he can't move on until we finalize. I respect that and am planning to do my best to make it happen in a timely manner. Do what feels right to you.
mammasita Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I think that's smart of you. I wouldn't date a man unless his divorce was final....I don't do "separated". 1

The rule of thumb is don't GET INVOLVE WITH SOMEONE NEW UNTIL YOUR MESS HAS BEEN SORTED OUT. Also....protect yourself this time around and get a prenup with independent legal advice for both of you. The new person might have baggage that she is not telling you of, and you might find out the hard way If you don't want more kids, get a vasectomy like I did last Xmas.....you don't want any surprises 1
