ExposedBrick Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I recently experimented with swiping right(liking the person) numerous times on Tinder without really looking at most of profiles to see if it would elicit any responses. Out of maybe 200 swipes right, it elicited a few responses. It actually led to a real life date from one of the responses. There is a similar Quickmatch function on OK Cupid. While I realize this seems like an abuse of the system and can create some unwanted responses, it can be frustrating to have success in the online arena. Does anyone else ever do this or think there is anything wrong with doing this?
Conners Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 It's a bit weird. I have tinder but don't really plan on meeting anyone from it. I don't really reply after the initial "hey how are you" It's more of a game to me to see how many matches I can get and see people I know on there. I only swipe right if I think they are decent. I definitely wouldn't use it as a dating app because most people on there seem to be after sex lol.

I mainly did this to experiment on both Tinder and the OKC quickmatch with the attractiveness of my profiles. It has yielded some conversations and dates. Do you think this was wrong per se?

It's not a very practical dating app. A buddy of mine uses it as a game as well to see how many "likes" he can rack up. It is a good boost for confidence though when you get a like here and there. You can take there confidence and take it out to real life meet ups. I'm very timid to try the app. I'd hate to run into people I actually knew on there.
somedude81 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 As a guy the only way to use tinder is just to swipe right for everybody and see if any of them bite. Don't waste your time actually looking through their pictures.

This technique does seem to work both OKCupid and Tinder.
